Snowy
Oldest sons birthday present this year was tickets to see Meatloaf at the NEC tonight. When we got there we were turned away and told it's been cancelled. Ho hum. So disappointed, we've both been looking forward to this for ages. It is on again on 29th November, and I wouldn't have wanted him to go on if he's unwell and give a below par performance. Anyway, we went for a pizza and to see a film instead (Death at a Funeral - don't bother, unless it's just to drool over Matthew McFadyen). But a bit of an anticlimax. Couperman
OH Snowy, What a bummer! And he would do anything for love but he won't turn up! sorry, couldn't resist I'm sure he wouldn't cancel for nothing. Are the tickets transferable to the next gig? ' A pair of tights by the dart board light' sorry done it again We had a similar thing a few weeks ago albeit with a lesser known god. I rushed home from where I work to pick Cathy up from working late (parents evening) to drive back to where I had just came from, to find a notice on the door, cancelled. We were not impressed to say the least, especially when we found out it was due to TV commitments rather than 'unforeseen circumstances' Rotten luck. Kev. Snowy
Terrible jokes Kev, but made me laugh! Thanks I think the concert on the 29th is an extra to replace this one, although I will double check
Charlottechicken
I think Mr Loaf has laryngitis I had a similar thing with Whitesnake last year. David Coverdale kept running off stage to be sick, you could see he was ill, he said it was the first time he has never finished a gig through illness. Everyone was very sympathetic as he gave it a go for almost an hour before pulling the show. We all got to see them again for free at the rescheduled concert It is annoying when you have travelled a fair distance, but he probably can't perform to his expected standard. I hope the rescheduled concert goes well.
Helen&Lee
Snowy, this was on the radio alot yesterday (5 Live) Apparently at his concert the night before he had left the stage muttering "Sorry guys I can't do this anymore, Thanks for 30 years of support" ( or something like that..) They then said he was ill.... There were a few people on the radio who said he didn't sing any of his well known stuff that they expected at the end, and they are not going to get any money refunded. So perhaps a cancellation with no notice and a rescheduled date is better. And two nights out for your sons birthday insead of one! Egluntyne
How disappointing Snowy. I hope it is just laryngitis.
Ain't Nobody Here
Whitesnake I saw Whitesnake 4 times when I was a teenager. I think I must have liked them (still do if I'm honest ).

Snowy
Thanks guys DS1was quite happy with his alternative night out - he's easily plesaed! How many 16 year olds would be happy being seen out with their Mum on a Friday night? I'm keeping an eye on the Meatloaf fan page now to see if he manages to recover. He's got several more concerts planned before the resceduled Birmingham one. I'd rather go see him in good health than not up to parr. Snowy
Aaaah! Thanks for that Joojoo. I've been trying to keep tabs on his progress but not heard anything 'til this. Oh well, just hope I get my money back now Need to find something else to take DS to see - don't think I'll enjoy it as much as I would've enjoyed Meatloaf though. Joojoo
I'm sorry it's been cancelled. I would be so disappointed too if that happened with someone I was looking forward to seeing. Go and see the Foo Fighters - they are touring at the moment. I went last week and going again next Wednesday. Absolutely fantastic
Snowy
Thanks for that Joojoo. Unfortunately it was for his birthday present so although I would go to see the Foo Fighters (although I've never heard them - if everyone on here likes them, they must be good!) he has chosen to go and see Alice Cooper, Motorhead and Joan Jett at the NEC on Saturday I can't say I'm too excited at the prospect

Joojoo
Alice Cooper is a real showman and absolutely amazing live. Even if you don't like the music (but you will) you can't fail to enjoy it
Snowy
That's reassuring - I think I will enjoy it, it's just disappointment at missing Mr Meat I was looking forward to a good old sing along. I don't know any Alice Cooper songs

I don't know any Alice Cooper songs Try to get hold of a copy of his greatest hits cd - it really is good. I'm sure you will enjoy it, and then you could go and see Mr Loaf when he is better
