Ain't Nobody Here
After my eggciting news of yesterday, I can happily report that Maisie, our Columbine, has laid a green egg . In the nestbox too, clever girl . Small and more grey than green but I'm sure that'll improve.

chelsea
Congratulations!! Its a lovely colour,....reminds me of some of that very expensive tinned paint you can buy and ususally see in Manor houses/stately homes and which would have a very posh name! AJuff
Congratulations!!!!!! What a lovely surprise for you. I am as green as Maisie's egg! I am STILL waiting for my two columbines to lay. How many weeks old is Maisie? What are you going to do with the egg? Do let us know if it tastes any different.
ktdot
Congratulations! Two firsts in two days, lucky you! I'm hoping I might get an egg from Muriel before the end of the week. I would love a blue egg layer but 3 chickens is enough for now.

Ain't Nobody Here
Thank you everyone! I am very proud . Maisie is 28 weeks old (if the farmer was accurate). Haven't eaten it yet - hoping for 2 more tomorrow then we can actually have one egg each (we've never had that before!) I will report back on contents of said green egg . CatsCube
woohoo, your threads give me hope that I may still see eggs out of my girls some time this year! How cool they both started laying at the same time, thats pretty early for a columbine they normally mature very late so Im told.
