AnnieP
I loved Mork and Mindy. Saw a clip recently. Very rubbish indeed! Great names! I'd keep them too! I bet when they start honking, it will sound like they're saying "Mork", (well, it will if you put your fingers in your ears, hum a tune and imagine wildly.....) Cate in NZ
Brilliant names indeed Lesley, I'd completely forgotten about Mork & Mindy, how could I have done
Lesley
Annie - Geese honk - ducks quack These make rather quiet noises - they're really sweet. They calm down if you whistle to them. I've never been good at whistling, I'm having to practise Ducks are very different to chickens. If you thought hens were dim - well try ducks Last night they couldn't go to bed - this morning they couldn't come out. Their food was placed at the oppossite end of the run to their water to keep it dry but they can only go in one end of the run and not both We're going to move the food near their water or else they will starve .....and........they are still young and haven't quite got the hang of the mating game. All the tail wagging and head bobbing was fine but then Mork tried to do the deed and promptly fell off - wings everwhere and that look as if to say "who? me? I wasn't doing anything " A whole 4 day holiday with nothing much to do except watch ducks and chickens - bliss

Guest
Chookiehubbie had a look at the pictures, and now has renewed enthusiasm for selling up and moving to the borders - he REALLY wanted ducks, not chickens when we first got our eglu, and the photos reminded him why! I may get my little pink pigs sooner rather than later....
Linda
Ooh, good luck Shona! You know how we all like to follow these stories!
Cate in NZ
Lesley your story of the stupid ducks had me giggling. They sound gorgeous..... I'd just love to see them, although from the sounds of it it's perhaps as well I haven't got any. I spend far too much time giggling at the hens as it is. I'd never get anything done with ducks too. Shona, I love the idea of pigs too.... do let us all know if you get some. Piglets are just so cute.... but I'm less convinced by the adult version
Lesley
Come on Shona - we need others to join in. Pigs and ducks next then?
Guest
Absolutely - a couple of pink piggies (in a 'piglu'), ducks and a load more chickens, somewhere in the borders, with no neighbours to nick our bick chains, a couple of dogs....... That's what I want! Not too much to ask for, is it?! Now if we could get chookiehubbies work to let him work from home, it'd be perfect!
