Christmas trees!

Recommended Posts

how lovely, very tasteful! I'm ashamed to say my eyes were drawn to the wine glass on the mantelpiece! I can home in on a wine glass at 50 paces

Love the lights in the fireplace.

That's beautiful. I love the lights in the fireplace too. So pretty. Our tree's not going up for another week but this is a lovely festive thread so more trees please  !!!

Edit - cross posted there, little chickadee - lovely tree! It's smashing when the children do the decorating for you. It's not always what you'd do yourself but it's so lovely to see their faces when they've finished, isn't it :D .

Actually Im very good and I dont drink, what you spotted was a glass of hot Belvier fruit farms Spiced winter berry cordial, made me feel all fesitive while doing the tree, along with munching on cranberry and orange fudge mmmm.

Littlechickadee thats very good of you to let your kids do the tree, Im to much of a control freek, besides noah was more interested in smuggling the baubles away on the back of his trike.

mmmmmm, that sounds delish - we're off to Aldi t'row to see what German goodies we can pick up- definately getting some Stollen (already sorted on the mulled wine front, got the little bags of spices to make some) but they're sure to have other tempting treats - can't wait :)

Then off to Asda to get the Mavrodaphne to make our mulled wine with

grrr, I'm at work and can't see the pics! I will have to log on again when I got home! I've had a barenaked tree stood up in the kitchen all week, no time to decorate it but my beloved niece is staying with me so tonight she and I will do it - that's when Christmas really starts for me.

While I love to see other people's tasteful, colour-themed trees, I have some decorations that are very old. When my mum died, we split her box of decorations between us all, I can remember her putting them on the tree when I was little. I couldn't bear not to hang any of them - so I go for the colourful, gaudy, cram as much as possible on the branches approach. Christmas is either tasteful or tacky, and I am definitely in the tacky brigade!

Photo will follow tonight if niece and I don't get drunk and fall into the tree

Jules, how organised are you! Immaculate house and all the presents wrapped! WOW! Lovely tree :)

Thank you

:D:D:D

I have to admit to hubby doing the wrapping, & some of the presents are in bags which we *ahem* have reused from last years presents that were sent to us. I hoovered yesterday, or else I daren't have taken a picture

It's a good job that we don't have the Christmas tree in the boy's bedroom! Bomb site city, that is.

Lovely trees everyone! :D

It's lovely how each one is very unique to it's family - bits and pieces collected over the years, modern and trendy, all with a bit of family story to tell!

Here is ours: I get very few bits and bobs for it each year, but always in red and gold as to me, they are such lovely, warm colours for winter. But apart from the lights, it was completely decorated by the boys in the hope it might discourage them from taking it apart again before Christmas  So far so good but I'm not holding my breath!

Lovely photos all :D

Immi and I have just come back from the local garden centre which always goes well over the top with it's Christmas displays, so now we're feeling nicely festive. We have a family tradition that each year the children choose themselves a Christmas bauble (the first ones were Baby's first Christmas ones that someone bought them), and we use their baubles on the tree. Immi chose hers today, she's onto a swirly green heart theme this year 8) . When they leave home they will both have a little collection of baubles which will hopefully remind them of some of their childhood Christmases :D:D .

Immi is now impatient to put a tree up, but it won't be until Wednesday, after school's broken up

All the trees look lovely. Unfortunately, I daren't put up a proper tree this year as we have a kitten who would definitely be at the top of the tree and none of the decorations would be left on the tree!! Have to make do with a small fibre optic tree and some other lights.

That's what you do when you have toddlers too!
