chocchick
It probably depends what you mean by good I got OH a nice Pure radio for under £100 which can be updated via the USB port (apparently). Do you have a DVD player anyway? We have a DVD recorder which is quite good. When would you want to use it?
Laura007
the portable dvd player would be for plane journey type things so less often, thats why i am wavering on the two less expensive options and getting two gadgets. decisions decisions decisions
Cinnamon
I adore my DAB digital radio, which I think cost about £100. We have bad radio reception here, & I was fed up with waking up to white noise,or the thing just making no sound at all The DAB Digital radio gets crystal clear reception,& has woken me every day for a year Have you seen the totally divine Kath Kidston ones, decorated in pink & blue flowers ? But,I am also an iPod fan. The iPod shuffles are going down in price from £69 to £49 very soon (I read it in the paper yesterday) as component prices have decreased. I bought my daughter an iPod nano for christmas and was very tempted to have one myself but couldn't justify the expense!!! But £49...... That's a different matter! Louise
The whole of the borders can't get DAB Lesley or channel 5 or digital TV unless you install satellite and we are the first part of the UK planned to have analogue switched off how sensible is that Anyway B O T, I have a digital radio in the tea room at work it is a little Goodmans system with a CD player and is very good but I don't know what it cost as it was a gift from a project leader to my team

chocchick
Digital audio broadcasting (OK had to look up) radio, so no fuzzy sounds like you get tuning a normal radio. http://www.bbc.co.uk/digitalradio/about/
Louise
I know what you mean Dan I watched desperate housewives last night I started it at about 8.50 and it was over by 9.30 It isn't just the adds it is the clips about it being sponsored by as well. I don't want herbal essences shampoo no matter how many times I see it Mind you they would only fill it up with repeats otherwise
Louise
I'll take your word for it Dan I think it is Eva Longoria You have the hots for I have to tape as I would fall asleep if I couldn't buzz through the adds I really do start to lose the plot
Popcorn
Desperate Housewives is another one that we watch off recordings - although I feel a bit of a tart watching it ! Dan , you really make me chuckle I think your turn of phrase must be a regional thing. You sound just like my brother and I can hear the accent and see the expression everytime. Family all live in Rowley Regis - sort of in the middle of everywhere really - dudley, walsall, cradley etc so not too far from you. Same twang though
The Dogmother
He's exactly the same in real life Gina, only funnier!

Guest
[Only annoying thing is that the adverts, trailers and news bulletins come through at three times the volume of the main programme You know how we spoke about having a poor memory on another thread (cue predictable gag here)... Well, sometimes I find the advert breaks so long in programmes that I can't remember what was happening in the plot!** Dan,I never have had a problem with the ads being loud on my DAB radio (I listen to Virgin)..............but I notice it on TV,especially Sky. Apparantly there is going to be a new smart Sky+ which will not record the adverts Complaining about things being too loud & admitting to forgetting what has just been on......sounds like your age is catching up with you
Guest
Yes Dan,it does! This is Sarah (Cinnamon) by they way - I cannot log on at the moment. I think I must have forgotten my password,so that'll be MY age catching up with me too then! Talking of young coppers, have you been watching "Life On Mars"? I think it is just brilliant And 24 starts soon too, so thats me happy for the next 24 weeks

Cinnamon
Agreed about Teri Hatcher being too skinny by the way. She looks like a Praying Mantis at the moment - all big pointy elbows & jutting hip bones I do love the show, its just so gloriously trashy One of my delightful children managed to delete this weeks one from Sky+,so now I have to wait until the Sunday repeat Dan you MUST catch Life on Mars,it is right up your street Did you hear that they may be remaking The Goonies? Now, if THAT is still set in the '80's you might be in with a chance of getting your bikes on screen
