bronze
Yes more chickens. I want two more but don't know much about bantys. I would like a blue/green egg layer and a grey/lavender/blue chicken. What are your suggestions people? ps they dont have to be true bantams and can just be miniatures

Snowy
I'm sure you can get araucana bantams. Not sure where though My Ruby is an araucana hybrid, but large fowl. She is blue and lays blue/green eggs. Didn't you rescue a similar looking bantam Bron? Has she laid yet? (Florence I think it was )
bronze
I have no idea if she has layed. Someone has. Her lobes arent any colour either apart from black and I dont think it'll be black eggs. I've always assumed she was a confused breed. she has the weirdo toes afterall. Do you think theres a chance she may be araucana cross? I'll try and find a pic
bronze
oooh I think she might be, at least a cross anyway would her wattles etc end up going red?
Snowy
Not sure. Some do tend to stay blackish, but she certainly looks promising! Pretty little thing!
buffie
I've got an araucana, blue laced wyandotte x 'Lottie' and she lays blue eggs. The most orange and creamy yolks too. Looks like your hen snowy, not a bantam but she is a miniature http://jaynetherapy.vox.com/library/photo/6a00c2252668678e1d00c22525c094f219.html BBx
CatsCube
Give a gall to the hen house in Eye, not to far from you and he has lavender Arucana bantams. Also Columbine hybrids if you wanted to go for standard chiken size and they are blue egg layers too.
bronze
Thanks Catscube I've just had a look at their site and bookmarked it. they have miniature orpingtons how tempting is that!
Jules.
What's the difference between a bantam & a minature?
bronze
Bantams have to be true small breeds in their own right for example the dutch bantams. Miniatures are small versions of the large fowl for example a small buff orpington is in fact a miniature. People just say bantam to cover all of the smalluns though
