Ain't Nobody Here
Over the past few months, I've noticed a lot of you mentioning that you work in schools. I'm curious to know how many Omleteers are involved in education. I've limited it to schools and colleges/universities as a list of all other possible jobs would be endless! gooner.girl
School for me. A tiny independant one teaching PE to 4-11 year olds. And I mean tiny - Year 2 has 8 children! (bit tricky when it comes to playing netball!) Just been offered a job at another one though! Which is slightly bigger, much nearer and pays way better! Ain't Nobody Here
Argh, you're too quick! It's the first time I've posted a poll and tried to put in a "I don't work in either" option but failed miserably! So we're just saying "loads" are we

Guest
I teach ICT to a load of 11 to 18 year olds. I'm good on software but I'm weak on the really advanced stuff in databases and spreadsheets. I'm also good at most of the theory stuff but I'm weak on networking, hardware etc. As for "caring" profession, I could quite easily strangle the little darlings most days! Also I HATE the younger ones - too needy. If I had my way I'd teach all year 10 and 11, mind you I do mostly already.

Guest
I used to teach dance in secondary schools, long time ago now Tessa School I work at has a very good dance department. The dance studio is rather uninspringly named "The Patrick Swayze Suite".
Tessa the Duchess
I used to teach dance in secondary schools, long time ago now Tessa Wow! My dream job some of the conditions I had to teach in were pretty horrific, in one school dance lessons happened in the canteen and a class directly after lunch was a nightmare The cleaners were supposed to sweep and clean the floor, but often didn't so the kids, who danced in bare feet, were always slipping over on bits of cold carrot or peas wouldn't happen today with 'elf and safety Tessa

Lailapet
I teach English as a Foreign Language as well as my 30 hours a week in TNT Customer Services. I just started a new English course last Friday in a bank. I think it will be good fun as the students are around my age (40-ish) and seem good fun. Caring professions? Well, I used to work as a Nursing Assistant in homes for people with mental and physical disabilities while I studied and Customer Services is caring in a way, isn't it? I wish I could dance though... With or without carrots I still seem to have several left feet Laila
Clash City Rocker
My main job is Occupational Health Screening, Lungs,Ears,Eyes but I also do some training:- Appointed person first aid, Fire Marshal and Manual handling. Hoping to qualify as a Fork-lift truck training instructor this year. For a few years I also helped out at "Circus Skills" taught kids (and adults) juggling, Unicycle & Diablo (though that probably doesn't count ).
