Back to the original topic  ....anybody else finding their cursor dithering on the forum, and any letters you type not appearing for ages after the keys have been pressed?

It doesn't seem to be happening elsewhere....or is it just me?

i get that too, just a lot of vertical lines while it catches up.

James didn't say WHEN he was going to move the forum to a faster server...

it's a bit slow, but mostly ok. Takes a while for posts to submit though.

Slightly off-topic question, but I don't want to start a new thread ... I now know that if a message is in my 'Outbox', it means the other person hasn't logged on and picked it up since it was sent.

I see there's a 'delete' button - if I delete it, does that mean they won't get the message (ok, I know that sounds stupid  ) Won't they have got an email saying 'new private message'?

This person hasn't logged on for a week, they were a new member, and things have moved on since I posted - since they haven't picked it up, I will delete the message if that's possible. Anyone know?

Sorry, Olly I don't know the answer to that one. I'd think that if you deleted it, it would still sit in their inbox though, as technically it has already reached there, just not been read.

The PM inbox seems to operate differently from an Outlook one, where the message stays in the outbox until your server sends it.

Hi Olly,

If you delete the message before the person you've sent it to picks it up, it will disappear from their inbox. They will still get a notification to say you'd send it though as that automatically goes out as soon as you click submit. They won't receive a cancellation message but will just assume that whoever sent the message has changed their minds.
