Ain't Nobody Here
I get that sometimes when I press "post a reply" - the typing takes time to catch up . Couldn't get on at all this morning for about half an hour . Didn't like it - I could see email notifications but couldn't get in to see them . The Dogmother
Back to the original topic ....anybody else finding their cursor dithering on the forum, and any letters you type not appearing for ages after the keys have been pressed? It doesn't seem to be happening elsewhere....or is it just me? i get that too, just a lot of vertical lines while it catches up. James didn't say WHEN he was going to move the forum to a faster server...
Richard T
I get the dithering and vertical lines too.

Olly
it's a bit slow, but mostly ok. Takes a while for posts to submit though. Slightly off-topic question, but I don't want to start a new thread ... I now know that if a message is in my 'Outbox', it means the other person hasn't logged on and picked it up since it was sent. I see there's a 'delete' button - if I delete it, does that mean they won't get the message (ok, I know that sounds stupid ) Won't they have got an email saying 'new private message'? This person hasn't logged on for a week, they were a new member, and things have moved on since I posted - since they haven't picked it up, I will delete the message if that's possible. Anyone know? The Dogmother
Sorry, Olly I don't know the answer to that one. I'd think that if you deleted it, it would still sit in their inbox though, as technically it has already reached there, just not been read. The PM inbox seems to operate differently from an Outlook one, where the message stays in the outbox until your server sends it.
Olly
well that's what I would have thought too, just wondered why there is a 'delete' button I may try and press it, and see what happens! Thanks for answering, anyway.
The Dogmother
I may be completely wrong Tell you what Olly - PM me, I'll ignore it, then delete it from your outbox. Post here when you've done that and I'll go and see if it's in my inbox. Then we'll know the answer
Mrs Frugal
I see there's a 'delete' button - if I delete it, does that mean they won't get the message (ok, I know that sounds stupid ) Won't they have got an email saying 'new private message'? Hi Olly, If you delete the message before the person you've sent it to picks it up, it will disappear from their inbox. They will still get a notification to say you'd send it though as that automatically goes out as soon as you click submit. They won't receive a cancellation message but will just assume that whoever sent the message has changed their minds.

Mrs Frugal
It's dire today. It's been driving me bananas! Hopefully it's going to be sorted soon though as the tech team are aware of the problems we're having at the moment.
