Mega slow for me earlier. I got logged out agian and it took 4 attempts to to get logged back in.

 

I was browsing on AOL but switched to internet explorer which has made it slightly faster.

I agree.I have only recently started venturing into the Nesting Box as I have spent my first 6 months concentrating on all things chicken in the other sections of the forum. You seem to have a lot fun here (and occasionally tears).

Well now I feel like I'm thought of as jumping on the band-wagon. I've wanted chooks for years not just since Jamie and Hugh! My grandad used to keep them so it's not a new idea to me. I think the programmes did help convince hubby though, and he could see how much it would mean to me.

It was my DH that put the idea in my head to begin with (him and Bob Flowerdew). He said "I love the noise that contented chickens make"; since his grandfather had a smallholding, I thought perhaps he was being nostalgic and took it to mean "Wouldn't it be nice to have chickens..."

 

Actually, I think he would have preferred a pig, but we don't exactly have space in our tiny modern garden

Gosh....it is dire this afterrnoon, and yet there are only 24 online.

 

In the evenings when there can be over 40 online...it zips along.

Sometimes it's just because the internet in general is busier.. it's always slow on any site just before 9am, at lunchtime and around 5.30pm. When people log on around work hours.

 

I used to work for a web development company and once, when the interweb went dead slow, our techie lads said that one of the main internet routers in London had gone down and it was causing chaos, apparently lots of ATM machines were affected.

It's VERY slow at the mo', taken me about 5 minutes just to get here! As for jumping on the bandwagon, nothing wrong in that, that's what it's there for. We got our chooks last year but it took HFW to finally give me that shove to go green. Been battling my conscience for years; conscience versus budget (since I met my carnivore, techno gadget 21st century OH) It's been hard work finding alternative sources to things but I'm nearly there. I don't mid if people think I jumped on the bandwagon, better than missing it!!

 

BTW, I'd like a pig too. And sheep, possibly turkeys and alpacas but Bisley isn't really geared up for it! Not unless you're one of the landed gentry and that we certainly are NOT!

Very tedious here - have been trying for the last 15mins to get into NB - yet it says there are only 20 users online.

Noticed it was difficult to get on around the same time yesterday - just around my coffee and sugar snack pick-me-up...

I'd noticed it was really slow too, so I moved elsewhere for a while (checked the bbc news website etc etc) to lighten the load for you old timers seems like it worked because its a lot quicker now

Forum is working fine at the moment, but I am confused (happens a lot these days). I've had an email yesterday saying I have a new PM, but no new PM is in my inbox.

 

Anyone else had this? ? Is this something a Mod could help with or are PMs beyond their powers?

And why is there a message which I thought I'd sent, in my 'Outbox' (which I've never used before to my knowledge) and not in my 'Sentbox'.

 

I think I might go back to bed ...

I had something similar with my PMs too . I sent a couple ages ago which I've just discovered are still in my Outbox. They've never been sent and there's no option to actually send from the Outbox (short of cut & paste and start again) .

 

It also seems to take a while for PMs to get sent - perhaps they only go when the site updates every 5 minutes or something? I sent a couple the other day which didn't show up in "Sent" for a while.
