feemcg
Anybody noticed how much busier the forum is recently? I just can't keep up, especially in 'Chickens' - I go away and come back a couple of hours later and there's about 20 red arrows . I used to answer a lot more queries but I spend so much time catching up with the reading that I've stopped replying .
chelsea
I logged on yesterday and went to work today, came home and had 3 pages to read!! Imagine what its going to be like when I come back from 2 weeks holiday
Egluntyne
I suppose Hugh and Jamie are to blame! There is such an interest in hen keeping after their recent programmes. The mother of one of my son's friends rang me earlier this evening ( I haven't actually met her!) to ask about hens. She has always wanted to keep them and spurred by the programmes she asked if she could come for a hen chat. Am always happy to oblige! feemcg
I did sound like a bit of a blether - ah well, it's nice to be passionate about something, and a compliment that we're looked upon for information and advice

And it is nice to have the opportunity to talk chickens. I shall view the exercise as a dry run for my Hen Party.

Olly
Hmm, I am always pleased to try and answer a query, specially as I am still a bit of a novice myself, (Ijust feeding back what I've learned from all you experts!). Lately however, there have just been too many posts to get through - I'm being very selective. A lot of people asking the same questions, as well. Still, it is good to see there's so much interest in chickens - and we can all feel smug that we were doing it before Jamie and Hugh! Olly
It's great, isn't it! I'd hate anyone to think I was a crowd follower ... honestly, I had the idea to buy Crocs, TubTrugs and a steam cleaner all on my own! I did!

The Dogmother
I noticed the forum crashing a couple of times yesterday too - once I even got a page telling me that the server was 'up to it's limit'
Egluntyne
. A lot of people asking the same questions, as well. I've started to add a bit about looking at the stickies as they contain the answers to most questions, when I reply now. I try to respond to peoples queries as I remember how grateful I was for advice when I was a new comer. But now that the forum is so busy and there are so many new members, it is hard work typing up the same stuff over and over.....and it is impossible to keep up with them all. I feel a bit guilty if I don't answer, but one does one's best! No chance if Coronation Street is on though!
Ain't Nobody Here
I noticed the forum crashing a couple of times yesterday too - once I even got a page telling me that the server was 'up to it's limit' I notice that happening once or a week or so anyway (no "up to its limit" though). Is that normal or is it just me .

Is that normal or is it just me . Yes....I couldn't get on twice yesterday. I thought it was my computer which isn't in its first flush of youth. Perhaps it is the volume of traffic recently. Maybe an update is needed. Things always go pear shaped though when forums/fora are upgraded.
Tessa the Duchess
I noticed the forum crashing a couple of times yesterday too - once I even got a page telling me that the server was 'up to it's limit' This happened to me yesterday morning, I couldn't get on to the forum for about an hour I was amazed at how panic stricken I was without some chicken chat Tessa

Olly
oh no! I'm addicted to this forum ... what will I do if it goes down? (er - possibly get on with some of the other things I ought to be doing, like ironing, cleaning, and filing!)

(er - possibly get on with some of the other things I ought to be doing, like ironing, cleaning, and filing!) Ditto to the above. If I'm at home I do a housewifely task such as clean the bathroom, and then reward myself with a few minutes on the forum....but with all this traffic a few minutes can turn into half an hour!
