Tessa the Duchess
I must say I am really tempted So a couple of questions. My dog is short haired white and tan. When she sheds, which she does constantly it's not floaty hair that sort of drifts into dust bunnies, but sharp little hairs which stick like darts to everything and are the devil to hoover up at the best of times. Could the Roomba cope with this? The living room is carpeted but I have two big rugs which have sort of cotton tassly things at each end, could it cope with these? I understand the Roomba moves in straight lines, I have a large living room with three tables in it what does it do when it comes up against a table leg? The Dogmother
My dog used to like being hoovered. Biscuit jumps on both the hoover and the mop
Cinnamon
Re the dog hair Tessa, we have a white Staffie which has the shortest nasty spikey hair of any breed. Roomba has coped very well with that & the cat hair too Not sure about the tassels though. The Roomba doesn't just go in straight lines, but also spirals. I have just had it going in my dining room with table & 6 chairs all on the floor. It still did a brilliant job - there are no bits on the floor at all. It worked amazingly well on my coir mat too & picked up all the bits (mostly Aubiose )

I have three hoovers one on each floor, maybe I could just have the Roomba and one for the staircases. dither, dither, dither Tessa
Shirl
Just ordered a Roomba from Lakeland. I couldn't see the 560 available anywhere so I hope the 530 isn't too much different. Can't wait, I might even sack the cleaner
Cinnamon
Just caught The Hubby actually feeding bits of dirt to the Roomba to see if it will pick them up. It did - he is very impressed I have given mine a real work out today.I have had all the sofas out & it has done behind them,as well as the hearth ,the living room & the downstairs room. Its going into Cleos room now & if it can clean up in there I swear I will love it forever
Guest
I gave my mother hers yesterday and she is thrilled to bits. She'd even heard of them! She has christened hers "Robert the Robot". As she has a spinal problem and is permanently on crutches and in pain, I'm hoping it will be a big help to her.
chocchick
A disabled woman sold us the scooba. It is ideal if you think about it. Just caught The Hubby actually feeding bits of dirt to the Roomba to see if it will pick them up. It did - he is very impressed OH has a wierd obsessive relationship with ours. He is doing several goes of the bathroom with the Scooba now as he is amazed at the dirt coming up. I came back and I couldn't get into the bathroom and there were objects all over the kitchen floor so Scooba can clean under things. I've not had to lift a finger! OH has found that Scooba juice is commercial Flash and has ordered several year's worth. Will post when sure it works.
Lesley
Is the Roomba good on hard floors?
Laura & CTB
Is the Roomba good on hard floors? Yes Lesley - my living room is tiled as is the kitchen and the bedrooms are laminate - all cleaned fabulously. The worst thing about a Roomba is that you have to carry it up and downstairs (or you could buy two)
Becka
There's a forum for hints and tips on using your Roomba and Scooba, not that anyone would be interested! http://forums.irobot.com/irobothome/

I can keep the Dyson for upstairs - we mostly live downstairs and only use upstairs if we have guests staying. I've not really looked at the Roomba as we have a built in vacuum and it seems such a waste Becka! - another forum! - are you trying to get us into bad habits?
