Egluntyne
*groan* *yawn* Same tired old arguments...especially " a chicken breeder I know....says they are too cold in winter and too hot in summer." If I had a penny for everytime I read that one....as if it clinches the argument.
Blackrocksrock
On a brighter note - I made the butter to-day but in the kenwood and it is lovely and also made the scones with the buttermilk. It is a great magazine
Tessa the Duchess
It is a great magazine It is great isn't it I popped over to their forum this morning, thought it seemed a friendly enough place, lots of Omleteers tempted though I am, I am not going to join, otherwise nothing in my real life will ever get done Tessa
Charlottechicken
I just realised I haven't had my 2nd issue yet Did anyone else buy a subscription to the 2nd issue only? Looks like I will have to email and remind them.
Willow
Hi Claire, I did subscription from issue 2 as well and had to ring and remind them - sorted it immediately and received it the next day.

Omletina Kyckling
I made the pork pie yesterday, yum yum yum yum yum!! It is delicious. I made it with home made hot water crust pastry rather than bought pastry (but found I needed nearly twice the quantity they said - I made it in a 9" loose bottomed cake tin so it's a large, flatter pie) Highly recommended! I thought that the salt quantity sounded too much though, so didn't pull the full tablespoon in and it was undersalted so if anybody else makes it, put what they say in! peanut12
Ruth also said that this magazine will not be available in supermarkets or independant newsagents, (unless they have an interest I suppose) only WH Smith to start with, as the amount of copies they are producing is small, and supermarkets want "telephone number sales" as she put it. I bought my first copy last weekend in Wyevale garden Centre
Charlottechicken
Ruth also said that this magazine will not be available in supermarkets or independant newsagents, (unless they have an interest I suppose) only WH Smith to start with, as the amount of copies they are producing is small, and supermarkets want "telephone number sales" as she put it. I bought my first copy last weekend in Wyevale garden Centre Apologies to anyone who thought the above was misleading. I understand that it is for sale in certain garden centre chains. However, as the above quote is taken from an email to me where I mentioned that I could not find the magazine in any newsagents or supermarkets, Ruth did not mention garden centres to me. Here is a quote from the website for clarification. We´ve had a lot of people saying they can´t find us in newsagents so I just wanted to clarify some details. ALL newsagents can order us through their wholesaler and all of them have been notified. However we can´t make them stock us and with shelf space as pressing as it is many have not ordered us - but if you ask them to get it they will. We are currently not available in any of the supermarkets. This is because we are a very small publishing house which quite simply cannot afford the charges they demand for shelf space. We are in every W H Smith for the next 3 months as well as Dobbies/Mole Valley Farmers/Ascott Smallholding Supplies/victoriana Nursery Gardens and Osney Lodge Farm Shop. I do hope this helps and if anyone has any problems getting hold of us PLEASE let us know and we will do our best to help you and your newsagent
