ali-s
I haven't seen a copy yet but went ahead with the subscription anyway. I am hoping the magazine will be a cross between Country Kitchen, Practical poultry and Country smallholder aimed at people with ordinary gardens not acres of land
Mrs Frugal
That's how it seems to be, Ali. There are articles on Starting with tomatoes Planning a productive garden Making butter in a plastic milk carton Baking Scones Pork Pies Beginning with bees Keeping chickens (including a competition to win ..................an Eglu!) Urban pig keeping Poultry Parasites Rabbit recipes Wild food ...........and more.

Mrs Frugal
Anything new on poultry parasites? Nothing that's not already covered in L-J's sticky in the chicken clinic.
Snowy
Sounds wonderful! It would be worth it to get the free copy of Seymour's book - it's supposed to be a self sufficiency bible isn't it?
Mrs Frugal
The John Seymour book is his biography, not the self sufficiency bible, Snowy.
Snowy
The John Seymour book is his biography, not the self sufficiency bible, Snowy. That's OK then, I thought I'd have to miss out on it.
Mrs Frugal
You can pick up the Complete Book of Self Sufficiency quite reasonably now it's been reprinted in a new format, Snowy. It's £10.49 in Waterstones according to their website. Worth every penny too!

After subscribing, I emailed them (quoting my sub ref) to ask specifically to start with the current issue. I had a reply back straigjht back to confirm they would amend my subscription details and get the current one out ASAP. I received the John Syemour book a couple of days later, but haven't yet had the magazine. Nonetheless, am very happy with their service so far
