Almost given up hope.....but...

Recommended Posts

Dannii has laid her first egg :D:D:D:D:D:D:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

She is about 55 weeks old and she laid her 1st egg on the 11th March.

I wanted to be absolutely sure it was her eggs that we had found this week , so I set about Dannii watching this morning and lo and behold she confirmed it with a lovely little almost white egg

A big well done to Dannii and heres to many more of her lovely little eggs in the future

So to all of you still waiting there is still hope

She is the daftest  of our girls, always the last to get the treats, she makes so much noise when the treats arrive by the time she has stopped they have gone :?

We got her, Kylie and Martha from Wernlas last year, all the same age but Martha and Kylie have been very good layers, been through a moult and are just starting to lay again

Oh well better late than never :D

Silly hen, at least she's laying now. On a plus side, my silly hen Spice actually laid her egg in the nestbox today! (It's the fifth one she laid)

The first one was under the hedge.

The second in the middle of the run.

The third at the entrance to the run.

The fourth just outside the eglu door as she'd gone into the nestbox and laid it straight afterwards.

AND TODAY she laid in the nestbox-it was a massive egg!

Look on the bright side she was born with the same amount of eggs inside her whatever age she started laying - so hopefully she will be laying now to a ripe old age!

What?! Are chicken like us girls? Born with their eggs? I thought their bodies made them new every day?
