Louise
When I read the title I thought someone had bashed your *so easy to miss the colour is so dull* wee van again I am glad I was not on that flight or the beach
The Dogmother
Thankfully it wasn't the van again Louise. I wonder how many flights they get going over that beach every day? Not what I'd call a holiday, but Phil would love it

Mrs Frugal
I remember why I don't like aeroplanes now .
Guest
my dad would love that, he used to take us to Manchester airport when we were little to watch the planes
Jules.
We still like going to Manchester airport to watch the planes- especially my mum!
Guest
i used to work next to the airport, I love the smell of aviation fuel in the morning....not! The plane watchers on the grass verge near work were a bit of a pain, they used to block the view of the road so when we pulled out onto the road, it was a bit dangerous as we couldn't see the oncoming cars I once clipped the car in front of me at traffic lights as I was too busy looking upwards at a plane that wasn't much higher than that one on the video! No damage done thankfully
The Dogmother
Phil is one of those nerds who parks under the flightpath I can think of better things to do with my time.

Guest
That was brilliant. Did you see the one where the people using the road on their motorbikes just duck - they are so used to it. Not sure if it was at the same airport
clucky1
I wanted to duck! Gosh. I did 'Duck' at my computer. How weird is that The person peering out of the plane window (2nd from last) looked more than shocked !

Lesley
That's a bit like what it was like landing on Madeira before they lengthened the runway! - very scary!

The Dogmother
I had a hairy landing on an Indonesian island (can't remember which one it was) - the short runway began in the sea and ended in the mountains, so only small planes were allowed to land there and if they overshot, they had to accelerate quickly and climb like mad to miss the mountains
riane
how scary was that...had to watch it again to believe it
Lesley
This clip http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ksmDuXO_k6E&feature=related shows it from the cockpit - it doesn't seem as scary from this view!
