clucky1
My 'girlies' love anything like that on a cold day. Mine also like prridge with dried apricots cut up. My Oh says that our chickens eat better things than he does
Sarah B
Mine wont entertain the layers pellets porridge so I might give rolled oats or ready break a go. It doesnt have too much sugar in does it?
clucky1
I just use rolled oats and any dried fruit (not too much - cut up small)
Janty
Mine love their layers mash warm in the morning. I also add poultry spice, marmite, cod liver oil, limestone flour and sultanas. If I ever have any squashes, I roast them, scoop out the middles and then blitz them in the food processor. They love this mixed with porridge oats as an afternoon snack. Sarah B
My hens fave food at mo is half a raw corn on the cob, they go mad for it! It's like chicken football as they peck it to bits and chase after it as it rolls! They don't mind a bit of pasta - spaghetti more so than fusili, I think they imagine it's a worm lol
BarbaraJ
My husband thinks I'm mad but he does always comment on how much he enjoys the eggs. Yeah that will help when we get some eggs!
Janty
This morning, after hubby's initial breakfast of two poached eggs on toast, he raved about it so much that I cooked him another two eggs on toast. Despite his protestations about two breakfasts being 'piggy', he polished off the lot. He then spent the next half an hour going on about shop bought eggs being pityful and disappointing in comparison.
mayflower
In the evening I've started giving our hens layers mash mixed with warm water and poultry spice. They absolutely go for it, and it's great fun to see them surrounding a round dish busily eating.
arowland17
I've said this on here before, but weetabix mixed with warm water and a little oil until it's a soupy-slush goes down a treat with my too! They absolutely love it, and I add any little leftovers to it like a sprig of brocolli mashed up, or some sweetcorn or raisins, they pick out the extras first and chase each other around the run, then both polish off the weetabix while doing their happy purr noise!!
