Boris70
Leo was born to silence in the end - not planned that way.... I had the lovely relaxing music of Ludovico Enaldi playing whilst I was in the birthing pool, but 5 hours later, with the ipod going on continuous play the midwife and my husband finally asked if they could have some other music on (I'd switched off by this point!). So Tom selects shuffle, and we are listening to anything and everything. Then as things still weren't progressing quickly enough, and I was exhausted, pain relief was needed, so out of the pool into the normal room...... and we completely forgot to turn the ipod back on! I did say it would of been an experience if the baby was born to eminem though!
Clash City Rocker
It's not just a "closed shop" for you ladies, When I had my "Snip" (1993) I was encouraged to take a CD with me into surgery, and also huge amounts of Valium (prescribed by my GP!!!!). I took Lloyd Cole & the Commotions "Rattlesnakes". When the "Brat" was born by Caesarian Section, I watched Great Britian win "Gold" in the rowing during the 1992 Olympics whilst drinking cups of Tea!! Lailapet
No music for either of mine... Both born very quickly at hospital without any drugs but very different births!
Tina C
No music for us but we did have Dido playing a lot before the birth and Layla definitely used to prick up her ears whenever we played the CD after she was born.
BeckyBoo
When the "Brat" was born by Caesarian Section, I watched Great Britian win "Gold" in the rowing during the 1992 Olympics whilst drinking cups of Tea!! When I went into labour with number 3 and was at the "I need to go to hospital NOW because this HURTS" it was first thing in the morning and OH made me wait whilst he cooked himself a full cooked breakfast I suppose out of consideration he didn't ask me to cook it for him Then at hospital whilst things were progressing he kept "nipping out" - I later found out he'd had numerous cigarette breaks, (which I expected) he'd also been for lunch in the staff canteen! Honestly Mind you with number 1 I started in the morning on a Sunday so we went out for Sunday lunch in a pub, I was having contractions between courses Mrs B
superjules
Mrs B, like you I started on Sunday morning with DD - we took a stroll into town and bought 2 boxes of chocolates for the midwives! (And I hoovered the stairs! )
Popcorn
I listened to a lot of The Ramones whilst pregnant, made the unborn baby jig about a lot! I didn't have music at the birth, was in and out like a yoyo for three days until they finally gave me a section..... .....but a friend of mine asked if they could put the radio on for her when she was in labour. At the time of the birth Joni Mitchell was playing, my friend hadn't got a clue what to call her little girl, so Joni it was. Ollie was delivered to Stairway to Heaven - a fabulous track when performed by Led Zeppelin but the Rolf Harris version, on the other hand.......... . I hasten to add that I didn't choose this I think Ollie had a close shave there Kate. I'm not sure he's a Rolf!!
