Mel (& Paul)
Can anyone out there reccomend a good natural face cream. I have really senstive skin, prone to dry eczma. I have been using Clinique Exceptionally soothing creme for upset skin, but it no longer seems to work and I am going mad with hot dry flaky skin (what a delightful picture..........) buffie
Hi Mel, I am using REN for sensitive skin. It's really helped I have dry/sensitive skin too. Also green people do a good one BBx

clare*
Now I am a complete convert to Liz Earle www.lizearle.com I have got my mum and sister hooked on her stuff as well. She uses naturally active organic products in her skin care range. My sister who is prone to the odd spot is no longer. She is mail order and in a few London shops. She has her own shop on the Isle of Wight that I went to last week. You can buy the stuff in minis as well so you can try it first. Hope this helps
Guest
Liz Earle stuff is great, but I just use plain old aquaous (spelling is wrong - too early in the morning!) cream. You get a massive tub from the chemist for a couple of quid, and it's just a lovely, rich moisturiser with no smells. I use it for the boys arms and legs, as they get a spot of dry skin, and all over for myself. It's fab!
AnnieP
OH uses E45 for his scabby bits too. Cheap, no smell and it works! I don't use any cleansers, moisturisers, toners at all on me....which is probably why I'll look like a prune before long!
clare*
Another thought, my husband sometimes uses Evian moisturiser and face wipes. He is prone to Eczema now and again and likes this range. Its really expensive in boots but Poudland if you have one near have it guess what for, a £
spott
heya, i have some kind of skin like that too. i udes the clinique exceptionally soothing, and it worked like a charm for about a month... then i tried the aqueous, and it doe nothing for me, but i use it to wash my face with, and it stop it from getting worse, sometimes. i got the e45 stuff on prescription and it feels nice for about 1/2 an hour and then nothing. so i use that and re-apply as often as i have to, i alo use nivea cream (the plain dark blue tub) not very green i know, but it is cheap and it lasts about two hours, so i don't look like a freak when i am at work. i will be watching this post, cos i am still hoping to find something that i might only need to use 2-3 times a day... Lesley
I use Natural Source Vitamin E Cream with Calendula by FSC (Food Supplement Company) - non-perfumed and inexpensive. I order about 6 pots at a time from www.all-ages-vitamins.co.uk - just click on FSC on the left hand side.
motherhen
this may sound wierd, but if they still make Calendula nipple cream (for when breastfeeding) this totally natural and a wonderful cream and can be used anywhere
Louise
I suffer form stress excema and the stuff I was told to use was Aqueous cream from the chemist like shona said for about £2 for a huge tub. I have to use it like soap it is pretty horrid you smear it on before getting in the shower etc and it then works up into a creamy substance you can rinse off and it leaves your skin very soft I don't break out that often but it clears it up in no time at all
Lesley
this may sound wierd, but if they still make Calendula nipple cream (for when breastfeeding) this totally natural and a wonderful cream and can be used anywhere They do still make it - you can get it in Boots. (daughter was using it, I hasten to add!)

Mel (& Paul)
Thanks guys - really helpful (do you get your cow cream from Boots or the udder one?) Having been to the doctors I find that my eczma is now infected. Lovely So antibiotics and acqueous for me (the doctor did remind me of the effect the antibiotics have on the pill, but didnt mention staying away from alcohol - so maybe I should just have a small glass of something, purely medicinal )
motherhen
- so maybe I should just have a small glass of something, purely medicinal ) Absolutely - you sound really stressed and in need of a little comfort (southern ) Would you like some company? I can have my glass out and filled in a couple of minutes
Mel (& Paul)
Sorry! Had already gone to bed by the time you posted that (left my computer on though ) I am feeling very sore and sorry for myself as my eyes are all puffy and my arms hot and itchy and my legs and back have all sorts of grazes and scratches where I itch myself And Clare T is coming over on Monday looking all thin and brown and glam
clare*
Mel and Paul that sounds really painful for you I hope it feels a bit better today now you have got your antibiotics and cream to calm it down. Take care, have a cup of tea in a nice cool bath to relax yourself with loads of Aquious cream (spelt wrong)
Cinnamon
Ouch! That sounds horrible Mel I was going to suggest the cream from Clinique, but reading back I can see you have tried that. Pity - I am a big Clinique fan,& find their products great & really easy to use on sore skin. So no advice from me,but plenty of sympathy
KateB
Ouch! You poor thing! I've had a lot of problems with the skin on my face and recently with my hands (ended up with the usual old steroid creams that actually made it worse!) - I use Liz Earle but have also taken to making my own face cream and toner recently which I use in the evening - I've also put the cream of my hands and as if by magic, all the redness and itchiness has gone! If you want the recipe, just let me know!
Trish
Just adding another vote for Liz Earle products. I out a friend onto this and her daughter, who has bad eczema started using it. Her skin looks great now and she love the stuff. I guess it might not work for everyone but I think it's great stuff
