alih
i have recently put up the Omlet netting to give my girls a big space without it meaning my grass gets trashed - but both they and the dog have got themselves tangled up in it and I am worried they will hurt themselves - I have put it up with the extra poles and tent pegs and was just wondering if anyone else has had problems and how they have resolved it? Blackrocksrock
Not sure what to do as I have one which ranges right through the netting and her breast is ready plucked!!! The feathers round about it are all shredded and she insists on doing it although there is nothing of any more interest on that side of the fence - well there must be. So they do really hurt themselves - she is bald there.
alih
ooh that sounds painful..I am just worried that they will strangle themselves, they are such greedy little so and sos they try and reach whatever they think is on the other side.... Gallina
Mine learnt very quickly that running at the netting and getting caught up was a silly idea. Don't forget that they have never seen netting before and like everything else have to learn the hard way.
ajm200
Mine got tangled up once or twice then seemed to learn. Also they have got a lot bigger and seem to realise that they aren't going to fit through any more. I have had to clip their wings to stop them going over the top as they used to flutter up onto the cube and then jump over. Now I just need our unwelcome human prowler to stop getting tangled up in it when he wanders though our garden in the middle of the night. He untangles himself by cutting the netting He's visited almost every weekend for the past month. I really don't care if he strangles himself.
