munchkin
How exciting!! We are also awaiting the first egg. Margot was crouching but now I don't know if I imagined it as she has stopped doing it!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed
mrsm_jones
What is "crouching"?? Seems silly, but I've not seen my 2 girls who are laying at the mo crouching at all. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention?
Stevie
What is "crouching"?? Seems silly, but I've not seen my 2 girls who are laying at the mo crouching at all. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention? They crouch down to position themselves for mating by the Cockerel when sexually mature. Its instinct for them to do it when you approach so dont feel offended that they think you're a cockerel! BarbaraJ
lol its something you can't mistake when they do it, makes it sooo easy to pick them up i did wonder how i'd tell but you can! Ebony will only do it for me though!

FruitandNutCake
Is it when you go to stroke them on their backs and they kind of squat down? Mine have been doing that since I got them on Sunday! I just though it was because they were nervous (like the way rabbits flatten down when they are nervous - thinking it makes them invisible!!) But I haven't had any trouble picking mine up - infact, thay are easier to pick up than the rabbits!
