Rhapsody
Last night I went to my Elder Son's GSCE Drama production of 'Bouncers' by John Godber- it was absolutely brilliant and I'm so proud of him!!!! If you dont know it here's a precis. He was playing the introspective Lucky Eric, probably the most tricky part. If only all exams could be so enjoyable, that was his 'fun' subject we let him take, the rest of wont be as much of a hoot. *Rhapsody is bursting with pride* Edited April 29, 2008 by Guest

Guest
Lucky you! DD2 is doing her GCSE Drama performance this afternoon, but I'm not allowed to go. Hers is an unscripted piece. She will be so relieved when it's all over!

chickencam
It is so good to be proud of them isn't it Well done to your son and good luck to him for the rest of his GCSE's My DS was in his year 6 play last year which their primary school does as a send of to their final year they rehe"Ooops, word censored!"d hard from Easter until July. It was a great production of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe. Which they performed for 3 days in a row then went to PGL the next week to let off steam a great end to his primary school life. He played Peter, and was really clear and loud with his lines and expressive with his acting and we had so many lovely comments from the teachers who has taken him over the previous years. When he started school he could barely talk and had speach therapy for 3 years and as a result had difficulties interacting with his peers. He ended primary school as house captain and a popular if still a little eccentric boy. I was so proud

little chickadee
Congratulations - I know how proud you feel, because it was me at the Christmas play. My little girl, who never wanted to do anything in front of other people because she got laughed at when she was 6 by some children in assembly when she sang a song ........ volunteered for a main part in the Christmas play. Proud.......... I could have burst and the relief that she wasn't letting those children control her life any more

poachedegg
Well done to your son Rhapsody. Our DS2 played Oliver in Oliver (funnily enough!) last year and me being a biased mum thought he was fab and I still get people mentioning it now over 15 months later! He did 5 nights, and when he used to sing 'Where is Love?', he used to judge how well he'd done by how many ladies were crying in the audience!! Guest
Congratulations! That is just excellent. How does he know though? DD2's drama teacher wasn't allowed to speak to the examiner other than to say hello. I don't think we'll know until that magic day in August.
