LittleBoPeep
Hello there, I posted a while back. We now have our chickens (arrived yesterday), bought them from a lovely lady at Martins Wood in Sussex. Really helpful and local to where we live which is great. Fabulous hens and seem so friendly already. The best bit is that one of the ladies has already laid an egg. So chuffed. Hopefully this means that they are settled and content. We have 3 Miss Pepperpots (Mipsy, Cookie and Tink), 1 white sussex (Chilli), 1 black sussex (Annabelle) and an amber (Amber). All seem to be getting on. What time wasters they are, we were literaly out there all evening watching them potter about. Hilarious.

Mutrix Farmers
It's not called time wasting, it's observing God's creatures and learning to slow down in this over-hectic world in which we live!! They're certainly the best relaxation method I've some across.
Gamebird
Congratulations. I too bought my chickens from Martins Wood in Deanland Lane, Sussex and I agree that the couple were very helpful and friendly. Their chickens are seem to be very healthy and and I have had no problems with them so far. As you can see I bought 2 bluebelles, 2 Rangers and 2 Light Sussex hybrids. I have had mine for 4 weeks now but no eggs as yet. Mabel I'm sure is due soon. Her crown and wattles are getting redder and she is crouching. Without giving too much away - where abouts are you in East Sussex?
