Aunty e
I have an interview for promotion this afternoon, and having done two lots of practice interviews, I'm now totally terrified. I have a tendency to gabble and blush when I get nervous (not very impressive) and I'm slightly worried that my palpitations are going to come back. Any suggestions for helping me calm down a bit? Tessa the Duchess
Rescue Remedy? A couple of Kalms an hour before the interview? Both work for me Good luck. Tessa

surferdog
Good luck! If you feel yourself getting flustered just stop and take a deep breath. Try to speak slowly. Apparently oxygen in your system calms you down and when people panic they forget to breathe (or something like that ) I'm sure you'll do brilliantly! Ain't Nobody Here
I would be a blushing gabbler too . Can only offer best wishes rather than advice - good luck .
Snowy
Develop a mental image of all the interviewers sat on the loo - after all they are only human as well Good luck Aunty E!
chocchick
I am a nervous wreck in interview, I've had 6 and always fall down at the interview stage. I've been advised (since the interviews)....deep muscle relaxation beforehand e.g. tensing and releasing muscles around the body, and breathing exercises. Practice saying answers to typical questions again and again in front of the mirror in confident/enthusiastic way and making eye contact. Some questions such as why do you want the job are very likely to come up. Reading back...it might be too late and you've probably had the interview by now so hope it went well. Aunty e
It was ok, but my ears went bright red and I gabbled. Also, was quite a bit shorter than the one before from the timetable, which can't be a good thing. And they went completely off the wall on the interview questions, totally different to the ones I was expecting and practised for. I'll lett you all know anyway, and thanks for the luck!
