Trish
I've got the silver ones and I love them. They did rub inbetween my toes a little to start with but I was gripping with my toes a lot at first, once I learned to walk with a moew relaxed foot they were fine. I love how soft the ground feels when I walk in them. I'd love a pair of the gladiatoe ones but can't really justify the cost of two pairs, especially not when I'm hankering after MBTs
ubereglu
Can I just ask what are MBT's?
Cinnamon
Masai (*sp) Barefoot Technology, Liz. They make you walk in the same sort of way as a Masai warrioir (but without the spear ) Supposed to be good for toning the bum, legs & tum, although I have never tried them as they frighten me a bit
ubereglu
Oh, I've never heard of them before... I think you could make a pair of them from car tyres though, like that tribe who did the London Marathon this year-mind you I somehow don't think they'd do the same thing! Seagazer
MBT's are quite peculiar to walk in as you have to remember to put your heel down first and then roll your foot forward - heel to toe. Hard to explain. They definitely make you concentrate when you first wear them. Perhaps in winter I'll get them out again. When I got them originally there wasn't a very good choice of colours and mine are a really, really bright blue.
The Dogmother
I have a pair of the black suede trainer type ones that I often wear to work and a pair of the sandals. I find the latter far more comfortable. I was given them by a friend who runs a fitness shop, years ago, when they first came to the UK, she needed someone to go with her to a trade show and demonstrate them on a treadmill. They formed part of my payment. MBTs give a brilliant workout, but you need to start with wearing them for just a small amount of time at first as you get tired quicker. So far, i love the FitFlops too. I have the plain black ones so can wear them everywhere. they aren't as tiring as the MBTs, so probably a milder workout. Shirl
Oh no it's happened again. I've just ordered a pair
ajm200
Everyone should have their credit-cards confiscated as standard before being allowed to enter the nesting box forum. It's amazing how much stuff this forum convinces you to buy that you wouldn't have considered otherwise. Don't worry, we've all been there (many times in some cases )
Shirl
Yes but I'm supposed to be good. We're trying to pay our mortgage off in less than 2 years and buying fit flops isn't helping.
ajm200
They do last much longer than cheaper ones so it could be worse. I've had mine for a year, wear them whenever the weather permits and they are still like new. You might save money in the long run.
Shirl
Well I don't think the OH will notice so I'll just have to convince myself they're good value really .
surferdog
You might save money in the long run. I like your style! My excuse for buying anything
Seagazer
I'm going to try the old 'what these, I've had them for years' chestnut. Just hope he's not in when they come in the post
Shirl
Mine arrived today. I've worn them a little this evening and they seem comfortable and as I suspected the OH didn't even notice they weren't my crocs LOL. I widh I'd got them earlier because I must have walked miles today and my legs really need the extra help. At least I was wearing my crocs so my feet were still comfy. I'm glad I didn't get the MBTs now. I kept trying and they didn't have my size but these look much nicer and a fraction of the price. Seagazer
Mine came this morning (different colour than the one I ordered but I'm not complaining). I've worn them all day and my legs feel tired but ok. I have got a couple of sore bits on my feet though but this is not unusual with me as I never have got new shoes and not got blisters
Goosey Lucy
Oh my. I've just ordered a pair. I thought I was immune to the Omlet Effect! Good job OH works away from home a lot. By the time he notices what I've bought they'll look as though I've had them for ages. I hope they work.
surferdog
Mine are coming today! Have to watch out for postie as DD is planning to pinch them. Took me ages to decide which ones to have and then they were out of stock so it was back to drawing board! (Indecisive - me?)
Ange1
Dare I ask which website is everyone using to buy these? Certainly quick delivery!
surferdog
I used this one because it was free next day delivery http://rubbersole.co.uk/
surferdog
Right wearing them now. First impressions - they smell really bad when you take them out of the packet - like one of those really cheap shoe shops, all plasticky. (Yes I know I have a thing about smells - my Dad used to say my nose was too near my bottom ) The soles are really comfortable but I can tell the toe posts are going to chafe although that's usual for me with new shoes. Oh and they come with a warning to build up wearing them gradually so you don't overwork your muscles. If it stops raining I'll wear them to walk the dog later. MedusA
The Omlet Effect strikes again - I just ordered some! But then, I am a fan of MBTs already, so I wasn't really sucked in......was I? I ordered mine from rubbersole.co.uk too. It does seem the cheapest and has free next-day delivery. I ordered the plain black ones, in the hope that they will go with most things. The Dogmother
I have those Medusa and they're acceptable for work, with trousers.
Goosey Lucy
Mine arrived a few minutes ago. They're a bit tight (I must have fat feet??) but seem ok so far. I'm really impressed with the speed of service, I also ordered mine from rubbersole. Now how long until I have a body like Elle McPherson rather than Mrs Large the Elephant? Cinnamon
I too am a victim of the Omlet effect. I just ordered a nice pill pot online from Victoria Heath & was JUST ABOUT to go to checkout when I saw they did Fit Flops I only meant to have a look out of idle curiosity, but I now have a rather snazzy pale silver pair on their way to me
Tiggy
I can't walk in flip flops, cant stand the toe post, I'm thinking about MBTs, I dont go to the gym so the idea of working my wobbly bits whilst doing other things appeals
