I've never seen a fox and im not sure what id do if i did (scream probably ) BUT i think id have a heart attack if i looked out of my window and saw that. I think I prefer just watching them on Wildlife SOS where they look pretty and aren't terrorising anyone (or any chooks)! Not sure about what the article said about them being very confident around humans though... The ones I've seen in my garden scamper off real fast at the slightest sound of a human... I know there have been foxes walking past people sitting in their garden, so maybe some are bolder around humans... mine run for their life if they see or hear me even from far... crazygal Posted June 12, 2008 Share Posted June 12, 2008 That would make a scary picture if there was an eglu right next to it A fox chased my parents' cat right up to their back door the other week- their cat charged in through the catflap at a hundred miles an hour, they opened the back door to see why and were confronted by a fox which promptly turned and ran off. In Birmingham I have seen fox tracks alongside the railway lines in the snow on a winters morning. A few years ago I passed one in my road as I went to catch the train, at about 7 am, he was just coming out of a neighbours side entry and wasn't bothered by me at all. I hasten to add that I haven't seen a fox around here for at least 6 or 7 years, and hope never to see one again now I have chickens. I haven't seen one in the garden since I've had the girls yet I've seen their poo in the garden. A couple of weeks ago a lady pointed out to me a baby fox laying curled up as if asleep on a bit of grass next to a road but on looking closer we realised it was dead, so sad. Theres a gap under the fence with worn smooth soil beneath and when i walk past-i can detect their unique obnoxious smell. We humans are to blame for suburban foxes because they live on our waste.
