Soggy run

[Guest]

I just wanted to create a little thread for people to tell us what they think of their plastic roosting bars when they recieve them...

I would love to hear how everyone gets on with them!

Such as how much grip they have, how easy to clean they are, how solid they are etc.

[Egluntyne]

Mine won't arrive till 1st July.

They're really sturdy but light,

For those wanting wooden bars for their Eglu, there is an excellent article **here** by Charlottechicken which tells you how to make your own.

I dare say you could adapt the "recipe" for the cube.

[KarmaMama]

Snap - mine are coming on 1st July too, but I will definitely let you know what they are like when they arrive

Mine are coming 26th June, along with my lilac cube!

[Helly Welly]

Mine aren't due until July 10th but i'll certainly let you know how they go. I anticipate them being the final piece of the puzzle, as in they'll be no other little things to nitpick over.

Thanks for resurrecting that thread Egluntine, I can never find it when I want it

Fame at last

I must admit I will be very interested to see if they're any good because I find the wooden ones really hard to get clean

[Lapinou]

As omlet said in a previous thread that anyone waiting for a new eglu will find it has the plastic bars, ours will be coming in a week today! I have no experience of wooden ones though, so nothing to compare them too but will certainly post my thoughts, inexperienced though they are!

Hi, my refresher kit for the pink eglu came today! (only ordered yesterday). The sunshade looks very fetching in pink to match the eglu. I cannot praise the new plastic bars enough - they look so much better. They look like part of the eglu, instead of an after thought, like the wooden ones did. So easy to clean & will be easier to dry. No more waiting for the damp wooden bars to dry! i will be ordering the red refresher kit & some plastic bars for the cube very soon!

I highly recommend them!

My plastic bars came yesterday. I haver plastidipped my wooden bars but thought I'd give the plastic ones a go.

Dont like the boring grey colour but I love that fact that they fit into the eglu so well - the wooden ones I've alway had a bit of a fight with to get in the right place and when I've covered then in DE I usually end up covered in the stuff myself

They look like they're going to be a doddle to keep clean too

Good news for me then! I was just about to order a set of plastics ones as well!

[The Dogmother]

I love my new plastic bars - they've been in a couple or three days now and the poo just doesn't seem to stick...a quick flick and it's off. The girls seem happy with them, in fact I don't think they even noticed the difference!

I shall be passing on my two sets of eglu mark 2 wooden roosting bars at some stage, so PM me if you're interested.

[Jules.]

Oh, how I wish you had all said how rubbish the new plastic bars are

I'm going to have to get some now.
