I just wanted to create a little thread for people to tell us what they think of their plastic roosting bars when they recieve them...

 

I would love to hear how everyone gets on with them!

 

Such as how much grip they have, how easy to clean they are, how solid they are etc.

For those wanting wooden bars for their Eglu, there is an excellent article **here** by Charlottechicken which tells you how to make your own.

 

I dare say you could adapt the "recipe" for the cube.

I must admit I will be very interested to see if they're any good because I find the wooden ones really hard to get clean

As omlet said in a previous thread that anyone waiting for a new eglu will find it has the plastic bars, ours will be coming in a week today! I have no experience of wooden ones though, so nothing to compare them too but will certainly post my thoughts, inexperienced though they are!

Hi, my refresher kit for the pink eglu came today! (only ordered yesterday). The sunshade looks very fetching in pink to match the eglu. I cannot praise the new plastic bars enough - they look so much better. They look like part of the eglu, instead of an after thought, like the wooden ones did. So easy to clean & will be easier to dry. No more waiting for the damp wooden bars to dry! i will be ordering the red refresher kit & some plastic bars for the cube very soon!

I highly recommend them!

My plastic bars came yesterday. I haver plastidipped my wooden bars but thought I'd give the plastic ones a go.

 

Dont like the boring grey colour but I love that fact that they fit into the eglu so well - the wooden ones I've alway had a bit of a fight with to get in the right place and when I've covered then in DE I usually end up covered in the stuff myself

 

They look like they're going to be a doddle to keep clean too

Good news for me then! I was just about to order a set of plastics ones as well!

I love my new plastic bars - they've been in a couple or three days now and the poo just doesn't seem to stick...a quick flick and it's off. The girls seem happy with them, in fact I don't think they even noticed the difference!

 

I shall be passing on my two sets of eglu mark 2 wooden roosting bars at some stage, so PM me if you're interested.

I decided to give in too, but earliest delivery date is now 10th july so will wait until next month to order them as gives me longe rto pay for them!
