my dream house :0)

Recommended Posts

i didn't take photos of the back, the photos are just of the front.

the front of my house has been on the net, when next door sold their house, it didn't bother me to be honest.

Tell you what, I'll remove the links to the photos, sorry everyone!

if you want to see them, go to my blog

I'm not sure it is a breach of their privacy, otherwise every time anyone drives past you'd have to look the other way. If they were that worried about being overlooked they'd put up a big fence or wall or hedge or something. If the photos were from inside their property or of areas not normally visible to a passing member of the public then maybe, but if they are taken from a place to which the public has free access ie: the road I don't think they would have a leg to stand on. I appreciate putting the picture on the net means far more people can now see the front of their house but it's only as if several slightly strange coach loads of chicken loving passengers were driving past :D - there's no address on here to lead anyone to their door.

Still, I still couldn't afford it, I'll go back to my dreams of a smallholding in Portugal, or anywhere else for that matter :lol:

thanks Mrs B but anything for a quiet life eh ;)

I was only stood at the front of the house, at the roadside. I would never dream of stepping foot on someone's property without their permission, that to me would be a breach of privacy. I was on the pavement, next to the road.

Don't worry about it Poet - if they live in such a beautiful house they should expect others to covet it

The photos were taken from a public highway and we don't even know where it is as you have not posted the name of your village on the forum (as far as I know). Its just the outside of their house, no people are on display and nothing incriminating is being shown.

Our neighbour was unhappy about her house being shown on the internet - and the location easily identifiable - as part of her next-door neighbours' plans to build a bungalow in their garden, on the council's website (she was even more unhappy about the plans for the bungalow of course). Don't think there was much she could have done about it though.

When we were looking for somewhere to buy - and getting to the point where we thought we were going to have to tell another buyer we could not find a house - I drove past this road and thought, in a random way, 'It would be quite nice to live there'. I had never even been down the street!

A few days later I looked on Rightmove and saw a lovely house I did not recognise. Guess where it was? It had just been reduced in price and came onto our newly extended radar although it was more than we were intending to spend. We went for it.

Sometimes dream do come true.

We live across the road from a house where someone famous once lived, and there is a picture of that house on a website relating to that famous person, and our house shows on it too... no one ever asked permission to have our house on said website, and I don't think they have to. What is visible from the streets is not private, and anyone can take pictures and post them anywhere, as long as it's not defamatory, or gives too much details (if my name, address and phone number had appeared on the website, it'd be a different thing)...

It's a bit like taking pictures of people in public places... if I take pics of my kids playing in the park or at the beach, and other people appear around them on the picture, doesn't mean I have no right to post them on any website. It is an issue only if people object to their picture being taken, otherwise you can take any picture and use them as you wish, you own the copyright... I realise it's not quite the same, having people in a background picture in a public place, and posting a picture of a house, but really I can't see why people should mind. I sure don't mind or care about my house being on that famous person website.

Now you guys got me curious... off to Poet's blog to see what all the fuss is about...

That's a lovely house Poet. You never know what fate will throw your way  . I regularly dream about a house with a green front door and a privet hedge around the garden. The house is always the same in the dream and I don't think I've ever been to it but in the dream, it's home. I often wonder whether I'll find it one day when we're out in the car and it'll be for sale and the dream has been a premonition. I'd be so happy if it was!!

I'm fairly excited right now because I've found on a NZ real estate website a house that I think looks pretty perfect, just my style etc etc.......turns out that hubby's arranged to rent it, so I'm going to living in what looks like my dream home :D:D:D

Of course I might not like it when I actually get inside it, but it's in a great area, apparently the neighbours are friendly and it looks fabulous :D:D:D

So, keep dreaming Poet.....one of these days you'll get your dream house, whether it's that one or another even better one :D

gotta dash but will be back later.

Just wanted to say, the house reminds me of a cottage I saw in a film once but can't remember which film :? it was something like "Blithe Spirit" or "Mrs Miniver" or a similar type film, as long as it wasn't the one in "Father Came Too!"

Mrs B

Mrs b this made me laugh. :D:lol:

I would be flattered. And if they ever spot it I would be amazed. If they ever did and were upset, Im sure it would be removed.

We should organise a coach tour of houses suitable for mad chicken owners.

I thought I'd google earth it. I don't know the address, I just know how to get there from my house so I did a journey on google earth!

It's got plenty of garden at the back to grow veggies and it backs onto a common so not overlooked and plenty of green space :D

Think we'll go for a walk on the common and see what we can see

Poet, good thing we don't all know where it is, or those people would suddenly get all kinds of people with chooks contacting them with offers for their house... they'd wonder what on earth is going on :D

Especially with the Omlet Forum organised coach trips all stopping there too
