4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I've started doing a 4 hour night shift once a month and have just got home after this month's. I went to work last night at 10pm and it was still light - just. I've just come home (it's now 3.30am) and the horizon is red with streaks of light in the sky and the dawn chorus is just getting started! It's lovely out there - I stood outside for a few minutes just enjoying hearing nothing but the birds!

 

Ah well, just thought I'd share it. Off to bed now .... zzzzzzzzzzzz

I love to be awake at dawn chorus time - it somehow seems magical!

It is lovely to be awake when very few others are, it is as though the fresh clean day full of possibilities is all yours

I am often woken by the birds they do make a racket where I live

when OH is away I often leave my bedroom blinds open at night -not overlooked & am woken by the new day & birds its lovely

I was woken at 2 this morning by a monster headache/migraine Shuffled off downstairs for some pills and to lay down on the sofa to recover. Finally at 3.45 I felt well enough to go back to bed but was shocked that it was starting to get light The red streaks were gorgeous

He is SOOOO loud!

The dawn chorus here is so loud that I roll over and put my ear plugs in!

Next door is up for sale, & whenever anyone comes around I make sure I go out & set Indy off,so they know whats in store

I also love it in the early morning when there is no one about. I walked the dog this morning at 6am (not quite 3.30 am I know! ) but I didnt see anyone apart from 2 lovely wood pigeons, I love wood pigeons.

 

The sun was so warm aswell.

I really am bad at getting up in the morning but on the days I drag myself out of bed at an early hour I seem to find I enjoy the day more.

But a lot more bearable in summer, hate not being able to sleep in winter

 

I still haven't recovered - getting too old to work nights, I certainly couldn't cope with a full time night job!

When I was on the wards, we did "internal rotation" which meant doing a week of nights every couple of months. I always hated them in anticipation, but once I was on them, I really enjoyed it (if that makes sense).

I sometimes have to do part of the week days and part nights now that really messes your body clock up
