So cross

Recommended Posts

Apologies for the rant but I am not having a good morning.

Firstly my delivered milk has been nicked for the second time this week, the first was on Wednesday, when they nicked my milk bottle holder too! I have phoned the dairy about it and they have said that it is not the first time it has happened in my area and I should call the police.

The second thing is I was sent something in the post that was clearly labelled "Do Not Bend" and the postman has only gone and bent it to shove it through my letter box! It was a painting that a friend had done for me, and the mount board is now very creased and will need replacing. I was so cross that I went straight down to the sorting office to complain!

Phew - glad to get that out! Think I need to go and sit with the cooks in the garden with a cup of tea!

Oh dear - poor you! I hope your day gets better and better

Cant believe someone would steal a bottle of milk and as for the post well I used to know someone who worked in a sorting office - he always said that if someone wrote on the envelope "Photos - do not bend" he wanted to fold them up and write "oh yes they do!"

(if it's any consolation I'm having a bit of a tantrum myself at the mo)

How annoying! :x I've just gone to pick something up from the local sorting office only to find it hasn't got there! I had to organise for it to be held til next Saturday because I can't get there in the week! It drives me nuts, DH was at home yesterday and they still just pushed a note through saying they tried to deliver  NO THEY DIDN'T!

Rant over :D Feel better now and I hope your day improves too!

Def need to go chook watching

Most of the time the Postie around here only carries the letters, any packets are all pre-filled out on forms that he posts through with your usual mail. It's so they don't have to carry parcels about.

Bit annoying tho as some items never get delivered, you have to collect them - nice money saving idea Royal Mail!!

At work,i regulary send parcels out by various courier companies and because the contents are often delicate-i use 'Fragile' tape so the courier know to handle with care.I pack with plenty of bubble wrap and polysterene chippings to prevent damage, but often they reach their destination looking like they've been sat on-by an elephant and contents broken.

I also know that many courier employees see 'Fragile' warnings as an invitation to use as a football at various sorting warehouses.Problem is-if i dont label it as fragile they simply say "we didnt know it was fragile" when its broken.

Lesson number one.

Make your parcel look as ropey as possible with tatty packaging (make sure contents are well wrapped though),but still use fragile warnings. The clowns tend not to use these ones as a football as they look abused already.

Well the third thing was my neighbours cat (who pops in for regular visits) threw up a horrid mess on the carpet! I have cleared it up but the smell was awful!

Glad to have got my three bad things out of the way, now I can get on with enjoying the weekend!

glad you're enjoying your weekend now Flo.

You could try phoning your Community Safety Team at your local council. They won't be able to do anything about the post office or the :vom: cat but they might be able to do something about the stolen milk bottles as its this sort of nuisance behaviour that can escalate into something more serious unless they can nip it in the bud.

I spoke to the police about the missing milk and I am not the only one who this has happened too. Several people in my area have also reported milk thefts so the police are going to send some patrols out at 3:30am when the milk gets delivered to see what they can find. They were very helpful and I am surprised they have nothing better to do, as I live in a quite a large town. So the hunt is on for Maidstone's Midnight Milk Menace!

My first thought was that it was drunk people on their way home, but the police said that lots of people have been targeted so they don't think it is drunks.

I'm very tempted to stay up tomorrow night and wait for the milkman!

Grrrrr thief's  Thankfully I use a local dairy farm who deliver at about 7 in the morning. If you had time on your hands, it might be tempting to replace your delivered milk straight away with a bottle that has well and truly gone off  Might put them off from pinching yours again :oops:

I did think about the off milk thing, but knowing the society we live in today I would probably get sued by the thief!

I do like Clarets idea about filming them, a stack out it is tomorrow

So true  On a regular basis I think the world has gone mad :?
