Things that annoy you...

Recommended Posts

This thread is fantastic. We all love a good moan don't we :) Perhaps there should be a whole new section on the forum called 'grumpy old omleteers' or ' ruffled tail feathers'. Just a thought!

Whilst we're on the subject of things that annoy us:

Over competitive parents whose children MUST be the best at football reading swimming dancing maths golf rocket science etc and make you feel useless if your child cant do an entire piano recital whilst standing on one leg and quoting shakespeare aged 6!!!!:lol:

BMWs (sorry) - do indicators come as an expensive, optional extra?

Or if they are fitted, they are attached to steering wheel! :?

The majority of motorbike riders who seem to think that most road rules (and especially speed limits) do not apply to them!

I love this idea! however not all of us are grumpy and old some of us are still young(ish) but just as miserable and grumpy!

Ruffled tail feathers is a fantastic name!

Hmm yes I thought as I was writing it that 'grumpy and old' probably were not the best words to describe the average omleteer (just me!)

My tail feathers get ruffled very easily these days, and I thought we were supposed to mellow with age :?

How about this for a 40th birthday from my nearest and dearest - one galvanised watering can too heavy when full and I now have 4, one horrible dried flower arrangement in drab brown and orange colours (I like pastels and rainbow colours anything but brown), and a CD that he had already played and told me that only the first two tracks were any good.

He is really understanding when I have a visible injury, but anything internal and he has no idea and is quite unsympathetic.

My dragon-in-law.

When you tell someone (OH's side of the family) that you have a bad back they tell you theirs is worse and they can bend/move quite niftily without wincing! Also goes for any other problem - they are always ten times worse than you. The same person said about our downlighters - "oh we're having the same only much better!" They don't have to be rude! Again, she also has children that are the best at sports ever and the cleverest ever, and they are taken on holiday during school term - and she's a teacher!

It is impossible to chat because I can't be bothered to compete and turn it into a trumping match.

So here we have it, a good grump followed by apathy!

OH got it right this year - 50th birthday = chickens and a cube! I also get my revenge when he gets a cold

That reminds me once when I mentioned my Marfan Syndrome (which affects me quite badly, particularly my heart and joints) and somebody said that they knew someone with Marfans who was about 60 and still went gokarting! Score 0 on the HSP test!

This particularly struck a chord - the other day a parent told me that her 6 year old was doing 13 hours of gymnastics practice a week, but it was fine as she was doing absolutely fantastically at school as well. grrrrr

What a great thread :D

You have all got so much off your chests already, well here are some of mine, mostly child related.

Parents who take the 'don't do that dear' attitude to discipline. Be firm and mean it!

Parents who pander to their children by carrying school bags and generally waiting on them hand and foot.

Dog poo on pavements, it takes moments to clean it up, out area gets particularly bad during school holidays when the children are in charge of dog walking and can;t be bothered to pick up.

Bad service and bad manners, I have seen both sides of retail

Not being able to ring a company about a query, first you have to find a customer service number then you have to go through too many menus to find a human being and then the chances of them being well enough trained to actually answer your question are slim.

Never knowing exactly how much something is costing me, everything seems to come down to deals etc, why can't hings just have a price to pay and be done with it. How much time do we all waste per year chasing our tails over insurance and fuel and telephone and holidays etc?

That will do for now must clean the house, I agree with an earlier post about why doesn't the housework stay done

No That's Audi's

OY! I drive an Audi and have been accused of over-indicating, i.e. indicating when there's no one behind... yes, but people at roundabouts might be interested in where I'm about to get out... or perhaps it's a woman's thing... you know, driving safely, communicating, that sort of thing...

However, the indicator lever must cause a terrible skin rush to Mercedes drivers...

... or perhaps men in general... :shameonu:

i'm constantly flicking the indicator on and off when Ian's driving, it drives him mad!

(I only do it when necessary by the way, not just for fun!)

Ditto with me and my Hypermobility Syndrome. If i dare to mention it to the other mums at school, they are always suffering worse than me, even though they don't have a permanent disabling condition. You should have seen the looks on their faces the first time i turned up at school in my wheelchair. Talk about the penny dropping

These people should try walking a mile in my shoes or in your case, riding a mile on your scooter

In fact, can I borrow your scooter please?!
