Back from my holiday

Stunning photographs.

Where did you stay and where did you walk?

We go to the Lake District most years and stay in a cottage in Hartsop by Brothers Water. Lots of fantastic high level walks and good low level ones for those days when your legs ache  .

Thankyou for the nice comments about my photo.

Wherever you looked, every view was stunning. A really beautiful place.

We stayed in a place called Seatoller, which is at the foot of the Honister pass on the way to Buttermere.

There is not much there at all. 4 or so cottages, a farm B and B and a tea shop. Oh, and Dave the National Trust man who looks after the car park!! :D

The cottage was lovley and had a pretty garden and a wood burning stove. I have put a few more pictures on my blog.

We walked around Buttermere and then the other days just from where we were along the Borrowdale valley in different directions.

There is a lovley clear river running through the valley which you can paddle in and rock hop. At one point is deep enough to swim in, which the kids did, along with the ducks!!

We did a few touristy things too. A trip to Wordsworths house Rydal mount and Rydal Hall, Beatrix Potters cottage, Windemere and Grasmere. We didnt get into Beatrix Potters cottage though as you have to buy a timed ticket and they had sold out by the time we arrived. We were allowed to the front of the house and to see the garden though.

Barbara J, Rydal Hall is lovley, very pretty. :D Grasmere is just across the road. My favourite of all the villages we visited. Lots of Chickenalia in the shops!

Hope you have a lovley time
