We're off to lovely Wales

Recommended Posts

We are off on hols this week to lovely Betws-y-Coed in Wales. I love going to Wales...coming from Liverpool originally, I spent many a weekend in Wales with my family. It always brings back lovely, happy memories.

We have rented a holiday cottage with my Dad and the in-laws. :x

My poor neighbours are looking after our two cats, sixteen chickens, Mum-in-law's three chickens and the hamster. I think that some hefty pressies need to be brought back.

Their ten year old has been getting up every day this week to feed the girls with me. She knows the routine inside out now.

We are going to go on lots of walks. The nice lady from Abbey Chooks in Gronant has said to e-mail her and she will show us round the old Abbey....and sneak a look at her girls. Bonus!!! :D

oooh have a lovely time.

I've always liked Wales but never actually stayed there - stayed in Hereford a few times and nipped over to Wales for day trips and have loved it.

Have a great holiday, Janty. :)

I love Snowdonia and the Betws-y-Coed region. We've only managed to get there once this year (the weekend spent camping with the 55mph winds) *sigh*

Must try to go again whilst we have some better weather.

We live in mid-wales - just outside of Welshpool - and we love it sooooo much we even take our holidays on the coast. I was brought up in Walsall and moved here just before I was sixteen. At the time I was not a happy bunny and my sister and I gave Mum and Dad a really hard time. But I have to say its the best thing they ever did. We've been here for 25 years now, I've been married to Alan for sixteen years and we have Eleanor who is 11.

The British Isles has the most incredible scenery pretty much wherever you go - we're really lucky if you think about it.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday (it's pretty hard not to relax when you've got scenery like Bettws y Coed). Try and get to see Gelert's (hope I've spelt that right - Welsh is not the easiest language) grave the story is sad but beautiful.

Happy holidays.

Croeso MadMitch (pretty much only bit of Welsh I've mastered) x

Haven't mastered much more than that myself. Think I will have to book some lessons though.

I have some friends not a million miles from you in Norbury, Shropshire. We also looked at a place at Meiford.

Have a great time. Now, if I had known you were going to Betws-y-Coed, I would have given you a book Nick borrowed from a hotel we stayed at there.

He promised he would send the book back. That was eight year's ago
