Well I wouldn't give up my gorgeous red eglu for one I don't know about the bars, they need more photos on that site really.

Meant to say, when I saw the title of the thread, I thought it meant there was an Eglu to be won.

It doesn't look like it is double walled like the eglu - and also as it is black - wouldn't these two things make it get very hot?

Ohhh would be lovely to win an eglu Egluntine. If all goes well this year I may get some bantees next year. I fancy some lavender and lemon pekins.

It doesn't give enough information about it though, eg how big it is, how many chickens it can house, the amount of nestboxes.

 

I thought there was a link for an eglu competition too.

 

Mind you, my second hand egluwas cheaper than that though.

I could make one of those out of a blackwell compost bin if I had enough sticky back plastic

 

It might be a bit more functional than it looks maybe the photos don't do it justice but I don't think Omlet need worry too much.

Hey, don't knock it - it's not pretty because it is not a 'designer hen house for trendy city chicken keepers'. It's obviously for 'serious' chicken keepers who want to do it properly

It may be fine, but it's not inspiring, bless it. I was hoping for "win-an-eglu" too.

 

Think the scoffalots will stick with the plastic caravan (green Cube) thank you, though I did do the door conversion less than 2 weeks after I got it (many thanks for the "how to" posts ). Once you're past that whole yoga-in-the-poo experience , I still think the Cube is great.

 

My work colleague went for a traditional wooden summer-house type coop, that has involved an awful lot of painting and water-proofing and is not particularly easy to take apart or clean. Horses for courses, but I certainly wouldn't swap

looks to me like they've jumped on the plastic hen house bandwagon - but there is no comparission to the lovely eglu.

I saw one at the Highland show in June actually, although not attractive its a good idea, I m sure they will evolve over time.
