Recommended Posts

It's Tomorrow! Finally after practically a month of waiting my green eglu will be delivered! Along with food, egg boxes, feeders, summer and winter shade etc. and a plaque for the gate that says'beware of the chickens!' :D

Unfortunately no chickens as we live too far away for Chicken delivery...

But...on Saturday we're going to pick up two twelve week old Pekin bantams and then spends the rest of our lives dedicated to them!

I'll post pictures when everything is set up.

:D *YAY!*

That is quite a mix :o where are you getting the Fayoumi & Kraienkoppe from if you don't mind me asking, they're quite rare? And is your orp a large fowl girlie? I'm sure you're going to have so much fun with them 8)

Hi Daphne

Yep, the orpington is a large, will be the biggest and fluffiest of the bunch!

We are getting them from a place near Salisbury, miles away from home but worth it I think. We went to a few places and liked these people :)

they are

The Fayoumi and Kraienkoppe are quite rare, and not a particular breed we had planned on until we read about them and then saw them in the feather, both are beautiful :P

We collect sunday so will post pics of them in their poultry palace then :D

Well...It came.

'It' is not my eglu I as I thought.

'It' is just a bag of food, a bag of corn and the run.

I'm so disappointed... :(

I was told it was all coming today.

I've been waiting since the start of August, and these are my first ever pets that I had to persuade my dad to get, just the house today we were picking the birds up at a later date.

I woke up at 9:00am the morning, and as a teenager this really is a first for me. I proceeded to get washed and dressed very quickly to await my eglu and go outside and collect it, and not get odd stairs from the neighbours if I woke later and rushed out in my pyjamas.

I waited and waited and finally at 1:15pm I got a phone call, it was Night Freight and they where having trouble finding our house, as I am really bad at directions, I handed the phone over to my mum and she gave the driver directions and said 'her daughter' (moi ) would wait outside the house so he was sure.

Up until then everything was fine, then he pulled over said hello, he was all cheerful and polite, which later on made it worse. He saw me and smiled and waited while I ran in to tell my mum he was here...He said he had 3 packages for me. He Brought out a giant flat box which I could see had my run in, then 2 smaller boxes, one I thought, just the right size for an eglu

How wrong I was :wall:

Everything look fine so my mum signed and the guy drove off, we got the list and scissors and began opening the parcels, we were right the flat box was my run, one smaller box was one bag of food, I was a bit confused, we opened the other box and there was another bag of food.

I thought the guy must have forgot something so i dialled 1471 got the number and rang him back. I told him not all of are stuff was here, he goes *in an annoyed voice* 'I gave you everything, the rest is coming in a day or two.'

'Right' I said, 'okay' And then I had to hang up as I felt so disappointed I thought I was going to cry, which eventually I did.

My mum phoned my dad at work and explained with lots of cursing, asked my dad what to do. He esuggested ringing Omlet which we did.

A very nice lady listened to my mum and told me that my eglu and other items, (diatom, tonic etc.) had missed the truck to be delivered today and she would make sure that my order got upgraded to am delivery, so tomorrow morning.

I thanked her lots and thought that Omlet are kind, and organised evrything for me, and are trying to fix everything.

Then my mum and me struggled to lift 40kg of food into the conservatory as outside ti looked like it was going to rain.

I hope that everyone else who orders eglus and cubes gets it all delivered with no problems.

I know that I'm just Upset over nothing but for me this has ruined my day, and every time I look at the run it brings tears to my eyes.

Thank you everyone for the kind posts and listening to my excitment of waiting that I posted yesterday.

x

Thats such a disappointment, what a let down. I guess at least you know the next delivery will be 'the one' :?

My cube came last night, and there we were in the dark trying to finish it and realised there was a mistake with the front panel, so we couldnt do ours either and I was a bit gutted, worried it won't be sorted in time for the girls arriving at the weekend

Omlet people were nice on the phone, still waiting for someone to call me back to say whether there is a replacement piece or not, not sure what we are going to do if there isn't ...

Fingers crossed you get a nice day tomorrow and can get your green palace set up in the sunshine
