I hope you get your cube fixed, I'm sure it'll fine. Omlet were very knid on the phone, and they try and sort every thing out asap.

We both know what it's like to be disappointed, we'll have to keep hoping.

funnily enough I have just had a call from a nice guy at Omlet, James, with a solution - a drill bit and a screw thread to put in the top, much quicker than replacing the front panel and I get to use a big power tool, lucky the chucks arent here yet!

Scramble that's a real shame for you- perhaps if Omlet had called you this morning before your eglu was due to arrive to apologise that the eglu had missed the delivery van then you wouldn't have felt as upset as you did do, & you would have been prepared for the disappointment.

Still, it's due tomorrow, & you are due to get chooks soon, so look forward to that

but back to a brighter note ...Greengirl thats a fantastic bird (the one beginning with k whose name I can't remember and I can't go backwards for a look for some reason). The colour/pattern of the plumage is quite spectacular. Lucky you And polands are fab; I'll second Mrs B. Ours have plenty of character and plenty of eggs!! Q. How many polish bantams can you fit in a cat litter tray for a dust bath. A=4. We wouldn't be without them now. Enjoy the girls when you've finished your DIY

hey scramble, I am so sorry to hear about your eglu, it will be here in the morning though, you have been so excited for so long now. (not that i know how that feels)

You still have planty of time or the girls at the weekend, you are going to have so much fun.

I think it would have been better if that had happened..but, I think I'm feeling a lot happier now!

Hi!

I got up at 8:30am, as I was so anxious...

It hasn't arrived yet but It will soon.

 

Me and my dad set up the run yesterday so that it wasn't a complete loss, and this evening we'll attach the eglu to it, and I'll take lots of pictures.

And again when there's actually some chickens in it...

It's here!

It arrived 25 minuets ago I was just checking everything was there;

that the eglu was green, was for chickens, had feeders, egg boxes and all my diatom, poultry tonic, garlic came with it.

 

I'm really really pleased.

 

Sorry, but pictures will have to come later when my dad comes home from work, as neither me or my mum can lift the eglu... :lol

Thats great - what ace news! the weather forecast for Saturday is good apparently so you can spend all day gazing at your Eglu - I know I would!!

Good news. I'm sure you will enjoy having chickens!

 

It seems to be a bit of an Omlet tradition for incomplete orders to arrive - but it's really disappointing if the "bit" is the Eglu itself!

 

Our cube was delivered (in the Omlet van, first delivery of the day) with the "wall" between the nest box and the main cube missing, but at least it didn't prevent us using it. Omlet sent the missing bit so it arrived the next day, but they might keep their prices down if they didn't have to do this for so many people.....

Sorry , my dad got stuck in a traffic jam on his way home from work, on the runcorn bridge and arrived home 3 hours late would you believe

 

We set it up but too dark for photos yesterday, so I've just taken some now

(sorry, slept later than I meant to...)

 

 

 

 

Ignore the dead hedge in back ground, the hedge needed a cut and we had to put chicken wire all along the bottom of it. It really looks dead but that's what happens when you give my dad hedge cutters.

 

I'll take more pictures tomorrow, when the chickens are in it
