Scramble
Bit of a stressful day...now I have a headache... Any cures, except lying down in a dark room for several hours with a cool towel on your head? All thoughts appreciated x
Geoid
Paracetamol? Plenty of water helps too.
Mumpty
I feel for you, I am a migraine sufferer and have some super duper strong stuff from the doctor (£5 per tablet!!) But on medium days when I think I can cope without the mortgaged tablets, I take SOLPADEIN, that seems to work well for me.

Angels4
**4head**is pretty good I've found. We have something similar here in the US...I LOVE them! Also something I have been known to do. I know its sounds a bit odd (if you think it sounds odd, you should see me). I eat a bananna, and then with a head band apply the peel to my forehead (white side against the skin). I don't know if it has a placebo effect, but I swear by it in a pinch.
Omletina Kyckling
I use a product called migrastick - it has lavender oil and mint in it and is all tingly and lovely. It's in a small metal canister so is great for the handbag. Tiger balm oil is also good, plus Boots botanics range does a lavender oil gel which is great for tension headaches. I find putting them on the neck is very soothing. Hope your head's better!!
Scramble
Thank you!!! All your replies sound very professional Are any of you doctors? tbh, I've just been having water in the 'calm serenity' of my home ... Yeah right! x
Olly
It does depend what sort of headache it is. I used to get headaches all the time, and was walking home one evening after a stressful day at work, with a cracking headache - couldn't wait to get in and lie down. At that time I lived opposite a watercourse, just an overflow stream but it had ducks and swans on it and was quite nice. As I approached my house, I saw a man standing at the fence throwing bits of paper into the stream. I went postal - quite uncharacteristically for me, I rushed towards him and let him have my opinion about pollution, litter and the proper way to behave, very loudly and in no uncertain terms. When he'd gone, mumbling some sort of excuses, I found my stress headache had entirely disappeared! I don't necessarily recommend shouting at strangers, but if it's a build-up of tension then finding a way to vent it might help.
Tessa the Duchess
I have a friend who swears by taking a large caffeine hit to get rid of a headache. Strong black coffee, full fat Coke, Red Bull all do it for her I don't drink any of them so stick with Aspirin I was once told in hospital, by a nurse, that you will find when you have a headache that your feet are cold, warm your feet and your headache will go Tessa
Cinnamon
**4head**is pretty good I've found. I will second that - I keep one in my handbag at all times & reach for it whenever I get headachey, before the Paracetamol. Its just a fab thing,& really seems to work. Also,a ggod drink of water can help, as a lot of time a headache is because you are dehydrated, even if you don't think you are.
