craftyhunnypie
Well, I'm extremely sad to say that Audrey died on Sunday. My sister had to tell me the bad news, as she had been looking after her. Her comb had gone totally purple & she never woke up. She will be truly missed & is the last one of my original Omlet hens. I will however never forgive my sister in law (not my sister), who over Sunday lunch - when I was told about Audrey - simply said " will you be putting her in a stew"? I had just lost my pet & been told the sad news & she said that. Everyone just tutted at her & called her evil! My poor little Audrey - no more corrie chooks. WitchHazel
Sorry to hear about Audrey. I think you should have replied "Yes, of course. There isn't enough meat to roast". See what she said then!
Steph101
Really sorry to hear about Audrey. For the record, my sister in law is exactly the SAME! When she comes to the house she just gazes at them in the garden with distain. Some people are so thoughtless.

craftyhunnypie
Thanks everyone. She was 2 back in June - so probably getting on for about 2 and a half really, considering she was about 20 weeks when we had her! Emma.x

Lisa
Sorry about Audrey Some people react in odd ways when others experience a loss and only you know if she really was being deliberately insensitive. We care though and hope you can remember Audrey with a smile
Beauty-Box
So sorry to hear your terrible news. I'm also sorry you have had insensitive comments. When I had Lily put to sleep a while ago my neighbour asked why I'd paid to have her put to sleep when I could have just wrung her neck! craftyhunnypie
I shall miss my little ginger chicken who followed me everywhere. I just hope Anneka, my goldline chick turns out to be so sweet - as she is a lovely character at the moment - 4 weeks old. I love the gingers!
