Lesley
My daughter discovered this range of product on holiday in the Caribbean and it actually worked really effectively. SIL gets bitten by everything that moves and he didn't suffer any bites even when sitting out in the evening. She used the suncream or spray on the children and it offered excellent sun protection, even though they were in and out of the sea all the time It smells divine - faintly of chocolate oranges - and the gel is non sticky. I use Aloe Vera Gel but find that it leaves a sticky residue, this one doesn't, and best of all NO CHEMICALS!! My daughter found this UK based Company are now distributing it here and ordered some - it arrived next day. I've ordered mine - we seem to have an invasion of insects here www.cactusjuice.co.uk
Mrs Frugal
Does it stain your clothes though. I bought some T co Finest sunblock for the boys to wear when they do PE and Games outside and it's ruined their white school shirts and PE shirts as it's stained them orange where the cream was . Nicola H
Thanks for the link Lesley, it is nice and cheap too i hate being rippped off for suncream, but am never sure whether the cheaper ones will work as well as the more expensive ones..............I will definitely give this a go. Cinnamon
I haven't tried the insect reppelant yet,but I am a big fan of the Badger products. I have the anti-bug,the bali aftersun & the muscle rub to take on holiday (where it will probably rain anyway!) It comes in nice little portable pots too,so great to keep in the handbag! Heres a link to their site, which has a further link to UK outlets & mail order. http://www.badgerbalm.com/index.html I will certainly try some of the other one too,as me & mine always get bitten to peices The Calypso suncream I have seen on sale somewhere.....probably Tesco or Boots,I certainly recognise it from a shop shelf somewhere! I am with you on the colour suncream Kate.We have a nice collection of green tinted school shirts
Guest
I use a product called P20 because it is so easy. You apply it in the morning before getting dressed - it is important to let it dry completely or white clothes will yellow. Then that's it. It lasts all day. It makes life so much easier than the constant reapplying business. Lesley's find sounds interesting though and I will have a closer look at it. PurpleHen
I'm sure you can buy Calypso in Matalan, I haev also seen it elsewhere - I think in random beach side shops in the middle of no-where! Bubt I have found it to be brilliant every time I;ve used it.
Lesley
I can only vouch for the Cactus Juice products - daughter says the suncream/spray didn't stain any of their clothes and the insect spray says that you can spray it directly on to clothes. Kate - I had the same problem with the Boots Soltan range - ruined all my white T shirts

It's great because i apply it before she goes to school and I know that she's protected for the rest of the day. There's another one called Ultrasun (I think) that has higher protection, I will get that next time.

Karen & co.
That's good service Lesley:D We used P20 last year in France, and again whist skiing, not a speck of sunburn You really do have to be meticulous putting it on and leave it at least an hour, but if it's done before breakfast than it's done and lasts the whole day regardless of how many times you go swimming As claret says I also use it for the children at school, so I know they are protected all day. karen x

kannie
I use a product called P20 because it is so easy. You apply it in the morning before getting dressed - it is important to let it dry completely or white clothes will yellow. Then that's it. It lasts all day. It makes life so much easier than the constant reapplying business. James has been using this for years, and though he's very fair never gets burnt unless he's missed a bit. The updated version of P20 (now called ultrasun) doesn't stain clothes. I also recommended it to a friend of mine who was going on an outdoor working holiday in Trinidad. Even with her red hair & white skin she didn't burn! I've been using the factor 17 version for several years & prefer it. It has a slight shimmer and I tan a bit more, yet still haven't burnt. You can find them both here, with a list of stockists or mail order: http://www.ultrasun.net/produkte/e_p20.htm
Lesley
Mine too Rachel They must be wondering what the sudden rush on the stuff is all about I notice that this morning they only had two bottles of the suncream left until next delivery in July - I wonder why? rachel19
If anyone wants any more of this stuff i've found another website that seels it and they seem to have stock too..............it's a different name although the website appears to be exactly the same http://www.itsascream.com/shopping/acatalog/CACTUS_Juice_Sun_and_Insect_Protection.html They are also giving away the cactus juice miracle gel as they have too much stock!!! it's completely free!!!!!! Cinnamon
Wow - brill tip Rachel! My free cactus gel is on its way to me
kannie
Did you order something else that you paid for Cinnamon, or just the free stuff? I'm not sure I've the nerve to ask for just the free stuff...
AnnieP
I thought about that! Then put a few bits in my "bag". The postage is quite high, so I guess they'll get some revenue that way: 2 items added and postage was £6.50. Did you get that too? I didn't buy this time, but probably will..... Mel (& Paul)
Yup, that's what happened to me. You can order just the free stuff, but the shipping comes out quite high
rachel19
Yeah i ordered 3 more lots of the suncream, a bottle of insect repellant and my free bottle of gel and postage was about £6.50...........it did arrive next day last time tho so should have it for monday I think it's worth it if you're going to be buying other stuff as well but not just the free bottle of gel. kannie
Yes - I've ordered now, but the postage was very high. I decided to go for some insect protectant spray as well as the free stuff, but the postage + handling cost £3.73. I don't think I'd have gone ahead if it wasn't for the free stuff and the recommendations! Could do with some good insect stuff though...
