carrie
Had my chickens a week, bought omlet 25m netting, and one of my chickens- a speckledy can get through it. Can't believe it, I bought it so that my chickens could have more space while I am out of work rather than being in the run all day!! Jules.
Is she getting through it, or does she go under it or over it? Have you seen her do it? None of my girls can get through my netting, but if I don't "pitch" it so that the bottom of it is taut along the ground then they can wriggle under it. Tent pegs can rectify this problem. When I had my eglu they used to stand on top of the run & fly over the netting
TAJ
Two things here - this netting is not 'attack proof' unless you electrify it so whilst I rave about how good this netting is I would never leave my girls out in it unless I was at home - not many people on here (if any?) would leave chickens out in the netting whilst off at work. If you want to do that I would recommend a walk-in run that provides them with protection from attack. Secondly, unless the netting is tight along an even ground, a chicken could get their head under it. I have the poles more frequently spaced and have no problems, others put tent pegs in at the mid-point between poles. Tracy
alih
one of mine flies over it from her stance on the eglu. The others haven't worked it out yet!
TAJ
One of mine flew over it from the top of the run - I just moved the netting further away and that stopped it. Tracy

Tina C
She must be quite small then? My bantams can get through it but they only bother when they want to lay an egg in the big girls' eglu and I have not responded to their shouts
Steph101
Occasionally, mine have been able to limbo underneath; we weight it down with the odd house brick, or secure it with tent pegs.
