Les Dennis is on Alan Titchmarsh just now and I was remembering when he was on celebrity Big Brother a few years ago and he used to talk to the chickens that they had in the garden. I remember thinking at the time, what an idiot, fancy talking to chickens!

In his case the chickens probably provided the most intelligent source of conversation he was going to get in the BB house.

I tend to talk to my chickens like they were 2 or 3 years old (humans, not hens); I love it when they talk back with that gentle little clucking noise they make

I was in the garden a couple of days ago, not only talking to them in my language (English, that is) but also, mimicking theirs, you know, copying their little bok bok sentences; I looked up, because I had the feeling I was being watched, and my next door neighbour was peering through his bathroom window at me....
