Rhapsody
This thread made me foam at the mouth. Why cant this idiot at least take the dog to the NCDL or Blue Cross? Too much effort?
Minnie the Moocher
I know. How could anyone be so stupid? But then you only have to look at RSPCA intake statistics a month after Christmas to see that some people are very ignorant and unthinking. The Vet has contacted my friend to say that he has a rescue centre lined up to take him, but she's reluctant to release him in case he becomes a long-term resident. She wants him to go straight to a loving home and is happy to foster him until then.
Rhapsody
I dont think he would. Puppies are snapped up really quickly at rescue homes, its the oldies that end up being long-term
Minnie the Moocher
UPDATE: Friend has now decided to keep the puppy. This was not her plan as she told the Vet she could only foster him, but she has fallen for him and he has settled in well with the family and her two existing dogs. Many thanks to everyone for all the interest shown. Minnie x

BeckyBoo
What a lovely ending to a sad story. That was one lucky pup that you friend was there at the time. Hope they'll all be happy together! Mrs B
Lewis
Glad this one was saved, and it was a happy ending I just hope that the man who had the puppy in the first place doesn't look for a new puppy, and repeat the process

little chickadee
I'm not surprised by the outcome as he looks like a gorgeous little chappie! Bringing up a puppy ourselves on behalf of Guide Dogs has made us realise why so many dogs end up in rescue homes, as it is hard work and so many people take on dogs without thinking about what is involved in training etc. I can see how Quita would have been a nightmare if we hadn't trained her properly and would have destroyed the house etc. So glad your friend felt able to take him in so he didn't end up as another statistic.
