Wedding day photos

Recommended Posts

What a lovely thread.

I was thinking the other day about selling my dress, never sure why you keep them but it hasn't fit for years as first it was too small and now too large and those plus size clothes sell very well....Oh and my divorce papers finally arrived yesterda (via a solicitor who can't spell!) Anyway heres a picture of me and my late father. He died just before my first wedding anniversary so despite the marriage being a dud those pictures will always be very special to me.

That's the one thing about weddings isn't it? At least we have lots of photos of lost loved ones to treasure! (Not necessarily lost partners! )

OK, here are mine, you are allowed to laugh!

Wedding no 1, 1988 - I loved this dress - and that's my Dad, not my (ex) husband:

Wedding no 2, 1991 - I hated this dress - the toilet roll doll look - and that's my husband, not my Dad!

This is me and hubby on our wedding day in 1996.

This is with my dad and our bridesmaids and page boys.

My dress looks very dated! It was boiling hot and I had to stop the photos to get a drink (non alcoholic!) Although we did manage a full bottle of champagne in the 5 minutes it took to get from church to the reception :lol:

Since I'm only 13 I don't have a wedding photo... but parents do! :D

They have been together since my mum was 16 and my dad 22... awww,

They got married in 1985 when mum was 22 and dad was 28 don't know what my mum will say if I want a picture of their wedding to put on here her eyes will probably pop right out of her head!

I also just have to say, you all look absolutly amazing in your wedding pictures.

.....- Poet's is so dramatic ....

we're not quite the conventional couple so I felt we had do something unconventional on our wedding day

The photographer joined in and turned up in a trench coat, trilby and a badge saying "press pass"

this is one of me, my sister and my dad. I took this photo in to the hospital to show the nurses/doctors and said "please give me my dad back". He's coming home on Monday, I didn't want to say anything in case I jinxed it. The dining room has been turned into a bedroom so this is going to be a long 24 hours, we can't wait!

Every bride is beautiful as far as I'm concerned and you all looked lovely!

I'll have to dig one out but I think our scanner is in the loft...

We got married in 1999 after 11 years together. I looked like a melon on two legs because I was very very pregnant. DS1 arrived a few weeks later.

I hired a suit for the event - I wanted red (my granny got married in red velvet so it's a bit of a tradition) but nowhere had a red maternity suit and there wasn't time to have one made, so I had to settle for Ivory :boohoo: . Our 'honeymoon' was a Sunday on the sofa opening cards and a few presents and then it was back to work on the Monday!

Ten years next year, we still haven't had a honeymoon!

Edited to add: Best wishes for your Dad's return home, Justine.

Poet you look fab.

I was thinking the other day when watching poirot that one of the reasons I enjoy watching it is the clothes.

thank you :D

do you remember 'The House of Elliot'? I loved watching that for the clothes. I love those cloche hats and Mary Jane style shoes, such an elegant time.

Bronze, have you got a wedding photo where you're not hiding your face ;) I love that pic of you but let's see the whole thing? ;)
