The Weather Thread

About four inches of snow yesterday. the house is at the end of a steep drive and couldn't get car out; still can't :x:x

I guess I'll have to walk up to the council layby about a mile away where I might find some grit/salt. Or I could just sit tight here in the warm till it thaws :P:P:P

Chooks sat for an hour with the run door open bokking at the snow.

Bright clear day though quite cold.

No snow here but a hard frost and sun. It feels colder than it was in Poland last week.

I'm at work and we have no central heating only a rubbish electric heater:( so I'm sat wearing a body warmer, fleece, gloves and scarf - oh and jeans and sheepskin boots. If it gets any colder in the office I'm going to have to wear my longjohns as well!

Hi Everyone

Superb photos DA were as here in Preesall near Blackpool all we had was a sharp frost.

The car temperature for outside was -3 degrees. for somewhere so close to the sea e.g

400 yards frost and -3 degrees means it must be cold enough for snow anywhere in the UK.

Hope the rest of the UK can have a nice snowy end to the week.

Best regards

Ooo, nearly down as far as us :D I went out at 9pmto collect Rosie from Guides and the stars had all gone - the temp was slightly higher, but it was all still sparkly.

Send the snow down here guys

I wonder how Louise is getting on in the Borders.. I will email her tomorrow to ask, although she won't get it if she's stuck at home :? Might ring then.

Another 2 or 3 inches overnight.

Moved the car for DH to get his out of drive now mine is stuck at the bottom with its rear end poking into the lane. Grrrrrrr.:evil:

Still snowing.

Chooks staring bleakly through the end of the run. :(:(

Spent a good few minutes freshening up the garden birds water and dotting food about the place.

Lots of little birds now stuffing their faces :):) with the odd Jackdaw and magpie crashing in.

Oh well going up the lane for more grit.

Snow does look pretty but it's just so ..........................................

Just sleety rain here - all night

Everywhere is so wet :(

Same here, have emailed Louise, but she'll only get it if she's managed to get into work.. on the other hand, she may be stranded at work; has happened before :? She lives up a hill just outside a small village in the Borders, so easily snowed in.

We seem to have two parallel threads running, so I'm going to lock the other one....

Sunny here now

Just got this back from Louise...

We are made of tougher stuff than that!!

Actually what has been on the news is complete nonsense!! We have had a couple of inches of snow and that’s it in fact it is almost gone there was a dusting last night!!

Worst problem we have had was a burst water main which closed one of the main routes into Edinburgh forcing a huge amount of traffic to divert which meant I had a 2 and a quarter hour journey to work on Tuesday and an hour and a half yesterday!! Thankfully the road was open again this morning!!

She sends her regards to everyone.

Brrr very wintery, though it will look lovely if the sun comes out :D

We have just had heavy rain and strong winds over night, the rain just stopped in time for older 2 children to get to school then the sun came out when it rose but it is now getting darker by the minute.

Just as well the clouds came in it was -1 at 6.30pm so that could have only gone on down if it had stayed clear
