Omletina Kyckling
I'm in cosytoes heaven.....I've just been out and bought a pair of sheepskinny boots. I've wanted a pair for a while but am unwilling to pay for the Ugg name but didn't want cheapo rubbish ones either. I was in TK Maxx earlier this week and they had some "Bearpaw"ones in....I liked the look of them, came home, did a bit of research and they seem to get good reviews so I've just been back and bought some..... I plumped for black ones with the chunkier, grippy sole and they are suedey on the outside but real sheepskin inside and only £34.99!! They had lots of styles/colours, with others being £39.99. They had other brands but the linings were artificial in those and I wanted sheepskin. So I'm now a cosy Omletina
Egluntyne
Lovely. I'd be interested to hear how they are in wet weather, having nearly broken my neck in my daughters Uggs last year. They were lethal.
Omletina Kyckling
Will let you know! These have very chunky lug type soles, not like the usual soles - I bought them for that as I'm not good on my feet at the best of times! Hubby is finishing in Sweden at the end of November (contract not being renewed, worry worry) and I'm flying out to navigate us back and then come back on the ferries with him, so bought them with that in mind!! Phonix
oooh let me know how they go. I loooove my uggs - got 2 pairs and would be lost without them but a new pair would be fab! Egluntine - can't believe you went flying in your daughters uggs! I love them and am usually a complete idiot for slipping and falling but so far (after almost a year of continuous wear) ive yet to fall or slip or anything in mine! xXx

My daughter doesn't wear them if it is raining for the same reason....and they are the real thing....not knock offs.
Mrs Frugal
I've worn the same pair of Uggs for 2 autumn/winter/springs running and have never slipped over once (*touches wood*) but have felt like I was wearing ice skates in a pair of well worn Crocs . The Bearpaw boots sound lovely Diane. Might have to make a visit to Grantham's TKMaxx when I've got some pennies .
Phonix
Im popping into liverpool tomorrow to buy my little bro's birthday pressie so I might just have to buy myself a little boot shaped pressie too lol! Ive got 2 pairs of Uggs, the classic ones that I never seem to have off and another pair that are really fluffy on the outside that I don't wear as much. I wear the second pair more often in the winter when its cold but dry lol odd because they've got a much better solid base! Saw a fab pair of Cat ugg-type boot sin barratts - off to see if i can find a pic lol xXx

Omletina Kyckling
This is an American site, but these are the one I bought today http://www.shoecity.com/brand-name-shoes/bearpaw/womens-boots/832202.php They have these too in several colours http://www.shoecity.com/brand-name-shoes/bearpaw/womens-boots/833303.php Don't get confused with the other brands they have inc Rocketdog because they don't have real sheepskin lining.... Happy shopping!!
Helly Welly
Surely any of these Ugg type boots are useless in the rain, not because of the soles but because the suede would be ruined?? Or am i being stupid (wouldn't be the first time)
Omletina Kyckling
I'm going to spray mine liberally with waterproofing stuff before I venture out.....

Guest
I always thing Ugg is such a descriptive word for these hideous things! Also I look at girls (who probably wear the cheaper versions, although you can't call them knock offs as Ugg is a type of boot) and their heels look like they are hanging over the soles so I think they always look poorly made and uncomfortable to walk in. They make my crocs look dainty by comparison and don't lok at all suitable for bad weather. I'm sticking to my Timberland and DM collection - even if they are all too big now! rachel19
The proper uggs are amazingly comfy to walk in and are very well made - i love mine I did however have primark ones to begin with which were awful and made my feet hurt after a while so you do really get what you pay for. abwsco
Brrrrr. It was quite warm that day only -5. We stood there in tears imagining what it must have been like for the concentration camp prisoners.
Reikiranf
You lot are such a bad influence on me! Ever since I first read this thread I've been lusting over sheepskin boots and slippers I've been a bit down for the last few days as a very dear friend died on Wednesday, you know how it goes, one minute and the next. Today I decided to indulge in a spot of retail therapy so off I trotted to TK Maxx whilst DH took DS to the Orthodontist, I checked out the sheepskin boots and was delighted to find a pair of tall lace up Ugg boots for £60! I decided I could justify the cost as the weather's got so chilly and I needed cheering up. So any advice on how to care for them and keep them looking good would be much appreciated. bronze
I bought my little one some Grommies boots just before we went away. My feet froze hers were snug as anything and she looked adorable
little chickadee
I'm afraid I'm new to this, as I've only had mine a few days from http://www.kiwi-sheepskins.com/sheepskin-boots.asp but they are sooooo cosy. I'm wearing them without socks as instructed and I havn't had cold feet (I suffer from very poor circulation) I've sprayed them with a protector spray (also from the website) but have not been out in rain yet so don't know how effective it is! Sheilaz
My daughter has some boots which have been brilliant so far. But, reading this, I think I should invest in water protection for them before it's too late. I've never bought one before, any idea of a shop to try, & what is worth the money & what isn't?
