Conversation between me and my six year old Grandaughter at bathtime.....

Sasha..... "Ooh I forgot I have to pick my dream for tonight"

Me........."Do you pick your dreams then Hunni?"

Sasha......"yes I keep them here (points to her head) in my computer"

ME........."What kind of dreams are they?"

Sasha....... "Some of them are scary, but I don't pick those ones they just happen"

Me.......... "No I wouldn't pick scary dreams either sweetie"

Sasha......."Maybe I should delete the scary ones ay Nanny?"

Me.........." yes Hunni you do that if you can"

I just had to give her a great big hug

AIN'T KIDS FUNNY?

I wish I'd known that a few years back for ES, he always had terrible nightmares. He didn't like sleeping in the bed with me and hubby though but would bring his quilt in and sleep on the floor next to me. This went on for years. I never minded because of all the times I had bad dreams as a child.

He's grown out of it now, thank goodness.

OH, YSD and myself were shopping in Guildford yesterday. YSD sees guide dogs for the blind being worked, wearing their yellow jackets etc.

She then says: How do blind people drive? :D

OH says: They have to wait for the dog to bark twice for right and once for left.

She says: How do they tell the blind person to stop then?!

Fair point...................

Kimmy that is soooo sweet I sometimes wish we could all occasionally see the world through childrens eyes :)

Sea gazer

was it nightmares or night terrors your son suffered from?

Night terrors are awfull, the child never remembers them but the parents certainly do, it's like the child is awake, they may sit up and there eyes are open and will sometimes back away if you approach them.

You can't wake them and feel totaly helpless, they look terrified. :(

I am so glad my grandaughter no longer has them (fingers crossed) since we discovered the trick of not allowing her feet to become too warm when she goes to sleep :)

I think ES's were nightmares but you have reminded me about YS. When he was a bit younger he used to scream sometimes and be sat upright, with his eyes open and skin cold and clammy. I would talk to him but he wouldn't respond. All I would do would be to gently lay him back down and he would close his eyes and go back to sleep. I had completely forgotten about that. Thankfully it didn't happen very often.

He had a nightmare this week actually and jumped into bed with us. He never stays long though.

I LOVE my little nephew.... my sister was dressed for a freinds wedding, he came in and the conversation went something like:

Nephew: "ooh, you look just like a princess, Mummy".

My sister: "Oh, thankyou. Am I the prettiest girl in the world?"

Nephew (after a pause): "No mummy, becuase Auntie Ann is"

My nephew is the cooolest young man ever, with excellent eyesight and judgement.... I think....
