The ultimate beak-wipe food is mash potato - we always make a little bit too much so we can watch them eat it. Beware though,one of mine got cheeky & started wiping her beak on my jeans leg mine wipe there beaks on mine aswell, also they try scratching at my toes like they are digging for grubs and bugs! Conkers Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 My neighbour was chicken sitting for us when we were away, and she told me afterwards that she was down on her knees dead-heading my petunias, and all she could hear was the sound of "beak sharpening" behind her bum! chelsea Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 my chickens are about 10 weeks old... there isnt any age limit on fruit is there??!!! they love raisins I know a lot of people say SWEETCORN...but please could you advise - is this un-cooked sweetcorn on the cob? or cooked tinned niblets??
