Cube mk2 and WIR

Hi

 

My first post! New cube arrived yesterday lunchtime along with 2 gingernut rangers (Malindi and Blackberry) and a miss pepperpot (name tbc). Very exciting! Cube looks great in the garden and chickens settling in well, they have worked out ho to use the glug (eventually) but are still very unsure about the ladder! The did not come out for ages this morning.

 

All well so far and I can see we'll be spending alot more time in the garden now! The forum is great and has really helped in preparation. Not sure how to put photos in here .. but the link is below.

I am really lucky 'cos my husband was very keen on the chooks and was keen to get the space ready in plenty of time. Actually it was much easier than we thought, but we didn't make it quite long enough so need to put about another 10cm of wood chipping down at the front.

 

It has been great sitting and watching them all day - my 4 year olds daughter has been feeding them corn from her hand just now and is beaming! I was worried that they were not drinking from the glug, but once blackberry had worked it out they all cottoned on really fast.

 

Family are all due over for inspection tomorrow - so got to tear myself away to do some tidying up

It looks really lovely - nice looking chookie hens too - how old did Omlet say they were cos one of the GNR's certainly looks quite young. If your daughter is beaming now just wait til she finds the first egg My three STILL fight over whose turn it is to check for eggs
