Griffin
Six! How did that happen Not very good photos because it was starting to get dark by the time I got back. Freya, a Columbine with a punk hair-do: Violet and Eliza (White Star) Primrose (Red Ranger) Catherine (another Columbine but much lighter than Freya) Violet Juliet (Sussex Sweetie) just pops up at the bottom Primrose, Freya & Violet All six in their house Pants saying "OMG Mum who the heck are they?" Once upon a time we had grass....... Juliet is the biggest, Primrose is tiny, Violet will probably lay first. Primrose is coughing but that's just stress related, I hope. Eliza sounds like a cat I was looking for one then realised it was her Lots of noise from the older girls this morning. Any idea how long that'll go on for? I'm trying to keep them quiet with lots of treats to take their mind off the newbies with some degree of success.

Ain't Nobody Here
Well, I can see how you had to get 6 . How could you possibly choose - they're all gorgeous . I have a Columbine too - her colouring's quite different to yours! Are you hoping for blue or green eggs?

Griffin
They're from Mother Hens Poultry near Reading. If I'm lucky enough to get one blue egg layer and one green egg layer I think I'll die and go to heaven. Other than that I'm not fussy what colour they lay, all will look stunningly beautiful on my Eggskelter anyway All are tucking into some spring greens right now apart from Tallulah who is still insisting on screeching her head off outside the kitchen window

Griffin
More pics Primrose Eliza plots her escape Freya They had their first taste of pellet porridge today and after looking a little unsure all tucked in with gusto. I love the look on Juliets face in this one Beautiful Catherine I clipped their wings this afternoon and gave each one a good cuddle. There is something special about each of them. I spent ages playing with Elizas soft, clean pink toes It'll not be long before they're caked in mud Juliet went to sleep in my daughter Mollys arms. The other chooks have spent much of the day sqwarking. I'm dreading introductions. I guess it'll be better to just get it over with in one go rather than one at a time. Hopefully not going to get any more! But might just take a basket just incase!

HENthusiastic
Looks like you have a great set up there. Do you just let your original girls wander free? Do they just have a fenced in area and their little house?
Griffin
They have half of the garden to wander in, Omlet netting separates them from the other side. The netting has only been up a couple of weeks, we intend to move it so they get moved onto a different part of the garden frequently. We hope to have grass next Spring!
