xChicken04x
I have a charm bracelet . A beautiful silver one with various charms, I've only had it for a few years though, so it's not antique or anything. I like the idea of having a troll bead bracelet, but where do I start? Is there a website?
Lesley
Plenty - just Google.........and there's also Ebay......
xChicken04x
Ok, now I'm confused. I've been on various websites, most of which charge about £20 (or more) per bead But I've just been on eBay and they are only about £1.99. Surely this isn't right? Are the ones on eBay 'fake'? jomaxsmith
Are the ones on eBay 'fake'? Yes Actually, they are generic beads that fit the troll bracelet so are not actually fake as they are not claiming to _be_ troll beads! I'm thinking I might buy a real bracelet and a couple of silver charms and some ebay cheap beads for prettiness until i save up for more authentic charms Jo
Cooks
There are some genuine ones on ebay, but it's riddled with fakes as well. Best to be careful I have a silver traditional charm bracelet that my mum started when I was born, it has all charms that mean something to me on it. I love it, but would never wear it. edited to say from memory I have these charms A gondola - from when my brother went to Venice and I was really sad he was going for so long A Football - becuase I used to go every week to see my brother play (and I haven't strayed far with going every week for my children now ) A spider and fly on a web - becasue I HATE spiders A teddy bear - because I love and collect teddies and now collect Steiff My first rings from when I was a tiny little thing My star star A Till - becuase my parents had a shop when I was little now I am struggling to remember the rest.. so thank you for making me dig it out and remember those times.. I will do that later. Edited November 14, 2008 by Guest
Shirl
OK now Omlet has cost me more money. After reading this thread a few days ago and mulling it over I've decided to get both DDs a Thomas Sabo and a few charms. I might buy a few cheap charms too incase they wear them quite a bit. Youngest DD always wears her amber teething necklace and never touches it but not sure if she'll be that good with a bracelet or indeed if I can manage to get it small enough. They'll make lovely Ch s presents though.
Chook n Boo Mum
I got the original idea from the story of 'a necklace of raindrops' which I think is one of the most beautiful childrens stories and has the most amazing illustrations. I have a friend who is a teacher & when she went for her assessments to become a deputy head she liked to read the children a story with some kind of interaction. She asked me to make her a necklace of raindrops, which I did, with the appropriate number of raindrops all attached to a silverplated chain using lobster catches, plus a few spares to allow for losses over the years. She was tickled pink & the children who she reads it to all love it too! Sha x
Snowy
If you do a search for troll beads on folksy or etsy, there are a lot of lampwork and PMC crafters who are making their own, unique beads that will fit those bracelets. Some gorgeous ones on there!
Cooks
oooh!! look what Pandora do now! http://www.pandora-jewelry.com/UK/Jewelry/Charms/Sterlingsilver/79302.aspx a chicken!!!!!!
Yorkshire Pudding
Those Troll beads are gorgeous... I feel a Ch mas list coming on... I may have missed this, but would the Troll and Pandora charms fit the same bracelet?
Lesley
Pandora charms will fit a Troll bracelet - but not the other way round. I'm going to have a Troll bracelet and have a wider choice of charms. There are also charms which will fit both.

The Dogmother
Lesley - the troll bead bracelets are less shiny and 'bling', I have seen both and have a troll bead bracelet that was given to me last Christmas - I will try to remember to put it on on Saturday morning when I see you. I only have 5 beads though. Yes, I phone Lumbers in Banbury and had a chat with someone there.....he said the same. I'm going to buy a job lot of the bracelets.......... By coincidence, I know the chap who owns Lumbers - he lives near my folks (yes, travels to Banbury 3 times a week ). I went to school with his sister. They are very helpful and will order in anything you want if they don't have it in stock. Let me know when you're coming over and we can try to meet up. Lesley
The second time i phoned, i spoke to a girl called Clare! I'll probably order online for the bracelets............ but we will come and park outside your house on another visit.........

I have the teddy - I collect steiffs so appropriate and the blutterflies as I love them basically.

Cooks
well I saw them and I thought well I NEVER treat myself so the charms are from me to me and the clasp is part of my birthday pressie from hubby and the boys, but I got it for the same price as the standard flower one I was going to get with my bracelet so it's all good.. they are addictive becuase I was sorely tempted to buy more.. abwsco
Lynsey, which did you go for in the end? Pandora?
Cooks
no I went for the troll, I really like the dullness of the silver compared to the bling of the pandora.. but it took me a lot of tooing and froing to decide. I also gave the links to my friend and had her on the phone.. saying tell me which one!.. bless her
abwsco
Thanks Lynsey It's the dullness that's swayed me to the troll one for my daughter but I've yet to see them in real life. There should be a localish stockist but I was told today that the shops gone
