i have had one for quite a while and i have been using bazuka that verruca for about 6 weeks now but it has'nt seem to do the job and i am wondering wether if there is anything better i can use and have any of you been to the dotors about your's [if you have had one]

If you go to the doc's, they will freeze it and it will fall off. I think some pharmacies do it too.

I've used the homeopathic remedy Thuja 6c when my daughters had one. One tablet twice a day for around three weeks. There's more on homeopathy here

My neighbours son has just had his frozen of by the gp, after she used Bazzoka for a couple of months with no success.

ive had 1 for 3 yrs and ive used everything 2 get rid of it i went to the doctors an d the dr said if it doesnt hurt then i wouldnt freeze it she said it really hurt she said they will avtually go away by them selfs

they froze my ES's verruca off a few years back now... he had to have a few visits though, it wasn't a one time visit thing unfortunately. It was HUGE he'd never had one since thankfully. It fell off somewhere on holiday in America

I was advised to use Wartner on YS, it has a much better success rate than Bazuka. However they didn't warn me about the price £13 but you get enough for 12 treatments. You can use it up to 3 times on each verruca.

 

Unfortunately we're on our 3rd treatment and it hasn't worked, if anything the rotten thing has doubled in size. So I'm having to take him to get it frozen as it hurts if you touch it. I'm not looking forward to this, at the moment he's in tears if you just want to look at the wretched thing.

This may sound bizarre but put a square of silver duct tape over it, and leave it there for a week or two (putting on a new bit every couple of days). It really does work, I tried it as a last resort having read about it in a magazine and couldn't believe how easy, painfree and cheap it was!

Just so that I don't look like a complete muppet, is it coloured silver or impregnated with silver? I have a lovely hardware shop that sells everything you could ever want but they already think I'm a little odd.

Both of my children have got a verruca at the moment, we have to go once a month to see the nurse and she zaps it with liquid nitrogen. It looks like it's in a soda bottle and she aims and pulls the trigger, it comes out in short bursts not a continuous stream. I tried the other stuff too and it didn't shift them at all

My girl has one too at the moment.

She is zapping it with a freeze stuff, I think it was an extra strength one, it will take 3-4 goes with 2 weeks between each one apparantley.

 

They are caused by the same virus that causes warts, so will just go on their own if you leave them alone,but it can take several months

The nurse said my verruca was one of the biggest she had ever seen. I got fed up with using that gel that turns white as it didn't seem to do anything so I excavated the core of the verruca using a pin I was young, that's my excuse....but it got rid of the verruca and it didn't come back (and I only walk with a slight limp )

We gave up with going to the Docs too. He said that they will go in time (in other words, don't bother me I have better things to do than squirt your son's foot with dry ice). I heard the duct tape method worked, but not tried it. Apparently it keeps it bone dry so that the offending article can't breathe or multiply in humid, sweaty conditions.

I have no idea whether son's feet are clear - he lives and dies in his socks and they find their own way to the wash basket.

Another remedy for warts was to rub them with garlic (then bury the clove and when it rots so the warts die and drop off too). That probably is to do with the antiseptic properties of the garlic, but even if you rub your feet with garlic, your breath will smell of garlic too! Weird but true!

ES had a few on his big toe, for ages. Used Bazzuka(sp) and extra strength stuff - asked the Dr and she said too young to really warrant freezing, and they should go eventually, as immunity would develop. went on hols to Spain in July - 35c average temp and lots of sea water, and sand abrasion - not seen any since

 

Funny as YS has not so far - had any, so must be a susceptible type thing.

 

Failing a holiday for 14nights in the sun - you could alternate between salt and sand footbaths, along with a few pummice rubs

We used some herbal thing from Neal's Yard (thulja I think, it was a brown liquid, similar colour to verm-x actually) which didn't seem to do anything. As his foot hurt so much, I thought it best to go in with the hard stuff. And it worked. I guess it's like this with most things; what works on one person won't necessarily work on someone else.

 

Hope the doc can do something about it.

I was reading through all the posts wondering if anybody would mention garlic . Both my sons had veruccas when they were smaller. Tried Bazooka gel but it didn't seem to work so I tried the garlic method. It might have been coincidence but after a week or two the veruccas disappeared never to return .

 

Each night I cut a thin sliver of garlic and covered it with a plaster. Removed it in the morning. There wasn't any problem with smell because the garlic was covered by the plaster.

 

Worth a try & a lot cheaper than chemist's preparations .
